Bring the Ruckus.

Troy Lee Designs' focus on riders' needs doesn't end with burly full-faces and DH pads. The Men's Ruckus Shorts will be your first option when gearing up for an enduro, downhill, or even cross-country ride. The shell is constructed out of a lightweight, two-way stretch polyester, with a large stretch panel at the back for excellent freedom of movement and a fully adjustable waist for the perfect riding fit.

For added cooling, hidden-zip thigh vents will let air flow to cool your undercarriage on scorching desert rides. Like the wide and comfortable waist adjusters, Troy Lee Designs placed the Ruckus' pockets to the side, facilitating pedaling without contents jabbing or bouncing around, and included a removable chamois to help prevent discomfort on long or rough rides.

  • Lightweight, two-way stretch polyester shell with large stretch panel in back
  • Full waist / hip height adjustment via bonded rubber adjusters
  • Thigh vents via hidden inseam zippers
  • Pedal-friendly pocket design
  • Removable liner with chamois

Shredable

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: Runs large

Just ordered a 3rd pair of these shorts! I really like the fit and comfort. They are a thicker material but not heavy or hot. The sizing is a little smaller than previous years. I used to wear 34 in all my TLD shorts but now the 34s are a little big. The 32 fits awesome though and the velcro waist adjusters are sweet. The shorts do come with a padded liner but I haven't used it yet. I prefer my SWAT bibs. Really dig the colors this year too.

Love them Ruckus Shorts!!

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: True to size

They fit perfect, are extremely well made, I like em so much I ordered a second pair! They are a little pricey but it seems you get what you pay for these days. I would totally recommend these shorts!

Great shorts!

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: Runs large

These are super comfy, plenty lightweight and not too hot. Even though they're lightweight they are still very resilient. I have taken a few diggers on them and they have been super solid. It does run barely large though.

Great shorts but...

I think these shorts would be great overall and probably function awesome. But the blue pair I didn't realize was actually like a subtle blue/black pattern which I didn't like. Fit was good but for the price I ended up returning for a Zion Ether.

Light weight

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: Runs small

The Ruckus is a nice light weight biking short. They seem to fit a little tight for biking shorts. With knee pads on they feel restricting thru the legs. I do like that it has lots of pockets. The liner in the shorts do fit a little funky because of the padding for the seat. but one on the bike its great. I would have gone up in size if there was more room in the legs.

Awesome shorts, but run large!

  • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it
  • Fit: Runs large

These shorts are exactly what I'm looking for. Excellent materials, great length, top notch liner with chamois, and well designed pocket layout. They do, however, run EXTREMELY large, contrary to what was said in the previous review. I wear 34 in ALL pants, and my waist measures an exact 36.0 inches. I purchased the 36, and they are way too big! I measured the inside waistband with a tape and they are 38.5 inches for size 36.

Light Weight Shorts

  • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it
  • Fit: Runs small

The design of the shorts is way better than last year's Ruckus but the material quality and thickness is def less. The liner is pretty good but also comes with butt-pads (a boon for some, an annoyance for others). These are good shorts if you need something slightly more protective than XC shorts but don't expect these guys to be protective if you eat it in enduro or DH.

Also TLD runs small.. Hella small... I wear a 34 with just about everybody else and have to get 38s with TLD.

coming apart after a few rides

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
  • Fit: True to size

I was really excited about these mtb shorts until the seams started to come apart after a few rides.

Seems started to split in the crotch area, and right now I have backcountry telling me to contact TLD directly and TLD telling me to contact the dealer!

Fortunately, after talking to BC warranty department they will take care of me! Disappointed with durability of this short, not sure if this was a one off or bigger quality problem! Will try something else next!

Camo that you can see!

These are some of the best fitting bike shorts I've ever worn love the pockets and functionality of them, my only complaint is that the liner has already ripped on me and I've only been riding in these for a week other than that I love these shorts!
