Description

Serve the public trust, protect the innocent, uphold the law.

You're going to feel like a giant robotic star from an '80s action movie. The Troy lee Designs Men's Rincon Jacket protects all the valuables that you carry under your skin. The ones between your neck and your waist, anyway. And those are pretty valuable. We don't recommend smashing through any walls or jumping off a 50-foot cliff, but if you get an uncontrollable urge to do these things, you're probably better off with a Rincon.

  • Stretch mesh fabric body promotes airflow and fits snugly to stay put
  • Injection-molded spine protector is LEATT BRACE compatible
  • Hard plastic protection for your shoulders, elbows, forearms, spine, and chest
  • Adjustable built-in kidney belt for added protection

Great Product

Received the jacket within a couple of days after ordering it on closeout. I am 5'-9", 150 lbs. and the medium fit very well. The spine protection runs high up the back, as you can see in the photo, and the collar is high (not open V-shaped), but even so is not un-comfy. I really like the elbow and forearm protection. My only challenge is that the shoulder shield sits a little low on the shoulder blade. I don't have the most broad shoulders, so that could be the reason, but the fit even with my build is very close to the photo's. I haven't found a way to adjust it higher yet, but I am open to any suggestions.

The suit has a weight to it, but is very comfortable and breathable. My first time with it on, I did a 16 mile loop (in 70 degree weather) of what most riders consider a robust trail (I live in Colorado) with uphill, downhill, XC, singletrack and cross-country all in the same ride. I actually put it to the test on one of the downhills, as I crashed on a curve going about 25 mph into a rock. My right shoulder took the brunt of the impact, but I escaped with only small abrasions on my shoulder blade (and a very sore rotator cuff). I believe the abrasions were from the top edge of the shoulder shield, so had it sat higher or preferably, extended over the top of the shoulder toward the collar bone more, I don't believe the abrasion would have happened. There is no question however, that the armor was a tremendous benefit, and ultimately kept me from some serious pain. I am giving it 4 stars for fit and function, reserving the 5th star for lack of top shoulder protection and the tight collar. Even so, I would highly recommend this item!

Fasle ad statement

I was excited to find this since every other jacket I've seen has a split chest plate. A previous handlebar to the center of chest incident makes that important to me.

This ad states: "Hard plastic protection for your shoulders, elbows, forearms, spine, and chest" *** NOT TRUE! ***
The chest protection is just padding not hard plastic. The rest of the jacket is great, why would they not make the chest plate hard!!!

Need I say more...

Hands down... one of best purchases (and my wife even bought it for me) out of all my gear. I bough a large, the shoulder pads are a bit big, but the adjustments you're able to make quickly squared that up. I agree with others, I just wear a LS jersey and you hard can tell it's on. I'm even able to comfortably wear my backpack when we're out FR roaming. At this price, it's stupid not to buy it. TLD as always keeps putting out qualitiy gear.

Fits Like a Glove

The body armor pieces for this jacket are very well contoured to the body so that when wearing this, you don't look like you just walked off the football field. It is extremely comfortable, once its on you don't notice it. Fit me true to size.

Ummm.....Awesome

Although I have yet to huck myself off a 50 foot cliff, this fits true to size and feels great! Very breathable, the wrist straps and thumb loops are killer, and how can you beat a deal like this?!?! I have tried on various brands of full upper armor and have forgotten the brands because this TLD kicks all their asses.

is there a size chart for this?
