Just for you, hotshot.

Troy Lee designed the Ace Shorts to provide the freedom of baggies, while maintaining a functional, low-profile shape. After all, just because Lycra doesn't cut it, it doesn't mean that you won't appreciate well-cut shorts that are slim enough to avoid catching on your saddle. The fact that they're the shorts of choice for so many of the world's best should only solidify the obvious fact that the Ace Shorts won't hold you back.

The main body of the Ace is made with four-way stretch, lightweight breathable polyester, so they move with you through your pedal stroke, not to mention those dicey moments that require a little extra body English. A large stretch panel at the back gives you even more freedom of movement. The fabric wicks moisture away from your skin, keeping you dry. The low-profile pockets are located on the sides of the legs so you won't feel the contents while you pedal. At the waist there are adjustment tabs that provide a perfect custom fit.

Welded intake and exit vents at the crotch keep air flowing, and additional thigh-and crotch-ventilation zippers are standing by to increase the airflow at a moment's notice. The included mesh liner short has a pressure-relieving chamois, which pulls moisture away from your skin to keep you chafe-free.

Here's what others have to say...

substitute for spandex

  • Fit:Runs small

definitely for XC

Not quite spandex

  • Familiarity:I returned this product before using it
  • Fit:True to size

These would be awesome for some, but not me. The material is super stretchy and comfortable and it ends perfectly above my knee. The problem for me is that they're not much different than spandex. You can easily tell what side I "dress" on and if you were so inclined you could probably figure out if I were Jewish or Gentile. If I were racing I'd pick these over spandex, but I wanted a more relaxed fit and went with the Ruckus shorts, which I'm stoked on! I'm 6' and 190lbs, and the 34 in both Ace and Ruckus fit me perfect. (I normally wear a 34 pant)

needs more storage

  • Familiarity:I've used it several times
  • Fit:True to size

These shorts are very comfortable. The stretch material is great. The crummy part is there are only 2 pockets. The back one will not unzip and it's too small to put anything into anyway. The side pocket on the hip is too small for my phone. A pair I bought about 2 years had 2 pockets in the front with plenty of space for my phone and keys.

super comfortable trail shorts, but skinny if you hit the squats. normally wear a 34, but the legs fit like an me kid wearing girl jeans in 2004. had to bump up to the 36, waist was a little loose but the legs fit fine
