Simple rules.

The Troy Lee Designs Ace Glove is the poster child for lightweight riding gloves. Using only the lightest, most breathable materials to create the Ace, the folks at Troy Lee successfully avoided the temptation to add unnecessary bells and whistles to create your go-to hot weather hand protection.

The Troy Lee Designs Ace Glove starts with a full mesh top to force cooling air to flow through the glove while you ride. The leather palm is durable and grippy, and provides exceptional feel. The glove is also touch screen-compatible, so you don't have to pull your gloves off to use your phone or MP3 player.

Troy Lee Designs Ace Gloves come in sizes X-Small through XX-Large. They are available in Fluorescent Yellow, White, or Black.

Stretch Over Time

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I like light gloves that fit tight. I don't want a glove that feels like my hand will come out of them while the glove is still attached to my handlebars. The Ace gloves were great when they were new, but over time they became stretched out and lose.
On the plus side they held up very well - never torn even after some hard falls. You can also throw them in the washer and they come out nice and white.

Awesome Gloves

Lightweight, breathable, and durable. Great for hot summer rides. I switch off between these and the Air gloves.

Comfortable and cool

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I needed a full fingered glove for downhill biking in the mountains in the fall and this set did the trick. It wasn't bulky and heavy and sweaty, but offered great grip and it worked flawlessly with my iphone. I really like the soft upper. My only complaint is that it could use just a little more padding in the palm. Then again, the rental bikes could have had more comfortable grips as well.

Nice, Lightweight Glove. Limited Padding

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I've been using the gloves for long rides in alpine terrain as well as lower elevation rides in the woods. They breathe really well and perform well in the heat. The hand padding is very slim, but seems to work just fine. I've got the small and they fit my small hands incredibly well. No gaps or extra fabric.

My Favorite Gloves of 2013

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Previously the SixSixOne Raji gloves used to be my favorite riding gloves as they were lightweight, breathable, and had minimal padding. Low and Behold, Troy Lee Designs has really upped the ante with the Ace Glove. The fit is the best I've tried so far which is in part to the well thought out design and materials. The materials used feel like a step above anything I've used in the past. The palm is Clarino which offers good grip and dexterity while offering great durability. The upper breathes better than I expected. Finally my 2 favorite parts of the glove that I wasn't expecting are on the thumb. TLD sewed in a small portion on the tip of the thumb to work with a touch screen. It was a little feature I didn't realize I would use as much as I do on my smart phone or Garmin 510/810. Second is the super soft material on the back of the thumb that is incredibly comfortable against skin. It makes it super comfortable to wipe dirt off your lips from a screaming descent or snot off your nose from an unrelenting climb. Now all my other gloves feel like sandpaper.

As for fit, my wrist is 7in and base of my hand to tip of finger is 7.5in, the size Large fits spot on.
