All Speeds Chain Tool

Over the past decade, we've been subject to what feels like an arms race in bicycle gearing. Having just taken over from eight cogs, the nine cog system yielded to ten cogs in the space of a few years, and tens were in turn replaced by 11-speed cassette, which, given that Shimano 105 is now offered in 11-speed, can safely be considered the new standard. Fortunately for mechanics, Topeak designed its All Speeds Chain Tool to be compatible with all (current) chain flavors, even the 11-speed hollow pin ones.

The tool itself comes in two flavors, the present iteration being distinguished by its inclusion of a handle-stowed chain hook for ease of chain repairs and a stopper that can be rotated into place to tidy up hollow 11-speed chain pins. The business end and chain hook are made of hardened steel; the crank handle is aluminum.

This version of the Topeak Topeak All Speeds Chain Tool measures 3.4” x 1.1” x 5” and weighs a claimed 314 grams/11.05 ounces.
