TIME ATAC XC 12 Titan Carbon Pedals $399.99
Don't attack the trail, ATAC it.
The pedal is one of the more crucial components. However, its importance is often overshadowed by the latest drivetrain, suspension, or wheel trends. Pedals have mountain on their plate, as they need to be light, tough, and easy to use. TIME accomplishes this with its range topping ATAC XC 12 Titan Carbon Pedals by using advanced materials with a proven simple design, which allows easy engagement and plenty of float.
Every time that you clip into TIME's Auto Tension Adjust Concept (ATAC)line of pedals, the self-cleaning frontal retention system sheds dirt. This ensures that you don't end up struggling to find cleat position before a steep and loose climb. Once engaged, your knees and ankles are treated to the Titan's industry-leading level of float. In fact, the XC 12 Titan's are adjustable, with three resistance options for the +/- five degrees of angular float in order to provide the perfect amount of resistance or freedom that require. Additionally, the XC 12 also provides 6mm of lateral float for side-to-side movement on the pedal. So, instead of being locked into one position, your foot is free to find the most comfortable position.
The XC 12's cleat is reversible, meaning that it can be positioned to release at 13 or 17 degrees. For a durable, consistent operation, the ATAC's arches are constructed from stainless steel. Also, the wide carbon fiber body and titanium axles minimize weight for a low rotating mass.
The TIME ATAC XC 12 Titan Carbon Pedals are available in one size and in the color Red/black.
What community has to say
- Familiarity: I've used it several times
I used time pedals for the last 13 years they use to have pedals that last forever, have best mud shredding in the market,
to save weight i have been replacing models, they have been reducing quality, bu these ones are really very bad quality almost disposable,
This pair was used for maybe a month, i had a marathon race with a lot of mud, but i race it every year about 70 miles long
the left pedal lost both springs at 15th mile, the right one, get damaged at 42th mile, this race (survivor dr) i had a very hardtime finishing the race without the pedals
What really made me angry is after all these years been a time user I wrote to customer service with attached photos and i never received an answer from them (via customer service and via facebook)
Dont buy this pedals, go to shimano, i think crank bros are much better also
2nd pair to split in two
Unsure what is up with Time, but just broke another one.... it was in a 25 hour relay race and I only noticed when my team-mate came in and I was heading out... he's the one who suffered by having an unexpected 2nd lap in a row! After 10+ years using Time, I'm moving to Shimano XTR for durability reasons. I now have two perfect left Time XC pedals, if anyone is interested in buying them?
I liked them... until they split in two
- Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
I've been using Time ATAC pedals for 10+ years. They've stood up to abuse and are reliable, especially in muddy conditions. I recently bought a pair of the XC12's and a month in they literally fell apart. I hit my right pedal on a rock and the thing disintegrated. I was left descending with half a pedal and no ability to clip in. I'm hoping it's a complete fluke.
