TIME ATAC DH 4 Pedals $123.45
Built to control complete chaos.
If the Time ATAC DH 4 Pedal looks like something from outer space, that's just a coincidence. It's actually much tougher than anything from outer space. The DH 4's oversized axle and large aluminum platform make absolutely certain that if anything on your DH bike fails, it won't be your pedals.
Time's ATAC (Auto Tension Adjust Concept) line of pedals follows the design principles of their road line. Simple design, easy engagement, plenty of float. The ATAC pedals were always seen as an alternative to Shimano mainly because you didn't need to fuss with figuring cant on the cleats, because the pedals were much harder to jam with mud, and because the spring tension never needs to be adjusted.
The one adjustment the user can make is whether the release angle is 13 or 17 degrees. And this is done by running the cleats one way or in reverse. While the Time ATAC may look similar to the younger Crank Brother's pedals, the spring design is inherently different, offering consistent cleat retention regardless of what happens to the bottom of the pedal. Another advantage over pedals of similar float in the mountain bike world is the tension of the ATAC system: offering a more consistent release, and a more stable feeling underfoot.
The Time ATAC DH 4 Pedals are compatible with any standard crank system. They come in Black.

Time ATAC pedals
These pedals have a great platform and are easy to clip in and out of. The binding is pretty stiff compared to others so it was tricky to get used to. I'm pretty rough on my gear so I'll keep you all posted about durability.
Great performance, poor durability
At first I loved these pedals. I am probably a cross country/enduro style rider. I love the up as much as the down and I never shuttle and pedal everything I ride. But the riding where I live can be steep and gnarly so I wanted a pedal like this with more platform to comfortably ride not clipped in on the tough descents. In that regard this pedal was amazing. But after a few months of use, everything started falling apart, bearings, springs, etc...and warranty from time sucked. Look for something more durable is my advice.
