Thunderbird Energetica was born when the founder, Katie, needed fuel when training for the Ironman World Championships that didn't irritate her already inflamed knee. She found that dumping all of the artificial proteins and ingredients in so many of the products on the market only made her symptoms worse, so she wondered, what else are those products doing to athletes' bodies? Seeking an all-natural solution, she and her husband developed the original fruit-heavy Thunderbird Energetica Bars for a sweet, quick boost, and then modified the recipes a bit to craft the Thunderbird Energetica Gather Bars, for a nuttier, more savory, and more sustained delivery of energy.

So what's the connection between a knee injury and organic ingredients? The body requires proper nutrition to heal, to train, and to recover, and the synthesized proteins and sugars in lots of the products out there not only impede the body's ability to heal itself, but can irritate it in the process. Thunderbird Energetica's Gather bars are made from wholly natural, nutrient-dense ingredients. Many of the nuts and seeds are lightly roasted to release their flavors, so while they can't technically be called "raw," the bars retain almost all of the natural enzymes that are normally broken down when cooked. Your body can thoroughly utilize the entire bar, as opposed to the small percentage of the ingredients in many of the market's artificially-sourced bars. The bottom line is a small bar that packs a big punch.

Thunderbird Energetica Gather Bars are nut- and seed-based. They are more savory and slightly saltier, and have lower glycemic levels for a slower and more sustained delivery of energy, when compared to the original Thunderbird Energetica Bars. Each bar comes in a 100%-compostable wrapper. All flavors are free of GMOs, agave, soy, gluten, and are vegan.
