Keep those bikes safe.

Instead of just turning up the tunes on your way to the trailhead, attach the four-bike Thule Vertex Bike Rack to your hitch and get a real solution to the constant racket of bike meeting bumper. Thule's shiny new arc design provides more distance between bikes and between the hitch and the hatch, so your prized possessions won't bang into each other, and the folding pivot allows easy access to all the snacks, clothing, and camping gear you have stashed away in the back. Secure up to four bikes in the super-stable Hold-Fast Cradles, and keep them from getting jacked with the integrated heavy-duty lock cable, which locks your bikes to the rack and stows away when you're not using it. Thule designed the Vertext to fit both 2-inch and 1.25-inch hitches, so it's compatible with almost all setups, from trucks to modded hatchbacks; good news, because nothing's sadder than having to leave your prized whip sitting in the garage.

In love

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I have been putting my bike inside my car (Kia Sportage) where I had to be very careful about scratching it and it was a PITA. I received the rack, add the trailer hitch and everything works fine. Now I just plugged in the rack and load the bikes very easily. I normally carry my girlfriend's bike which has a women's frame. For that one it is a bit complicated because start bumping against other bikes. But I already ordered the Thule bike adapter to avoid those problems.

Another thing to consider is that the newer version of this rack doesn't need tools to hook it up to the trailer hitch, this one needs some tools so it makes it less easier. But I really like it.

Solid

Very pleased with this rack. It is pretty heavy, but doesn't sway or bounce as I roll down the highway. It helps that I could use the included strap to secure the rack to my spare tire.

I've got a size Medium frame Santa Cruz 5010 hanging on there, and I'm not sure I am hanging it in the best way. Between the suspension and all the hydraulic lines, this is the best mounting method I've come up with.

Solid

Hey man, I hope you found this out by now, But there is a frame adapter for FS bikes. I connects from the stem to the seat post.

Very Sturdy

Switched brands and favor this over the other! My last rack was very wobbly and regardless how much I tightened the screws, it would continue doing so. She was solid from the moment I set it on the car and held up well with four bikes on it.
