Carry your bikes like a winner.

There are cheaper, bigger, and burlier racks than Thule's T2 Pro 2-Bike Hitch Rack, but there might not be one that better balances durability, ease of use, sleek style, and efficiency. It combines ratcheting rear-wheel straps and a ratcheting front arm to lock your bike down into the cradles without damaging or scratching the frame, and each mount can be adjusted side to side to prevent frames and bars rubbing against each other in transit.

The T2 Pro can hold just about any bike outside of a tandem—the cradles fit wheels between 20in and 29in, and accommodate tires up to 5in wide, so even your fat bike will fit comfortably. The HitchSwitch lever makes it easy to tilt the rack down for access to the snacks you've tucked away in the hatch, and also makes it quick work to fold up the T2 Pro and stash it away in the trunk or a closet while your steed hibernates in the garage for the winter. Installation and removal is a cinch, as the AutoAttach system eliminates the need for tools to secure the T2 into 1.25in and 2in hitches. The integrated cable lock and lock knob secure your bike to the rack and the rack to the car, respectively, so you can stop and grab a shake on the way home without worrying about your bikes going walkabout.

Unanswered Question

Would it be possible to mount a Bob baby stroller? I realize they are not designed for it, but I could fasten the handle in the rear tire strap and the tire arm could hold the other end upright. Probably have to remove the rear wheels.

Quality product

This rack is heavy duty. It will keep your bikes safe and last many trips to the mountains I'm sure. Assembly was pretty straightforward. My favourite feature is the folding rack so you can access your trunk with the bikes still on. It also comes with locks for both the hitch and the cables for securing the bikes. So easy and quick to get bikes on and off. All around awesome bike rack. Glad I finally pulled the trigger on this long awaited purchase.

Glad to hear the T2 Pro has been serving you well and hopefully you find lots of time to use it this fall!

How does the Thule T2 Pro work with the Toyota Tacoma tailgate in the open and down position?

Hey David - The Thule T2 Pro will work great with your Tacoma. With no bikes on it, you can easily put the tailgate down if the rack is down. With bikes on it, you can tilt the rack down by removing the pin and still open the tailgate. I have used the T2 on my Tundra for years so feel free to contact me directly with any additional questions.

Picked up two!

This is my second rack, easy to install- and comes in diferent hitch sizes. After a few years of wear, I was so happy that everything still works that I knew it was time for another for my wifes car. Solid rack and takes the abuse we put it through

    Investing in Quality

Feel free to send me an email with questions on this bike rack or if you're looking to get one. I looked at a lot of the options on the market and this one stood out big time against all the rest. I'd be happy to help you with your bike rack search!

I've been using this rack for the past month and have been loving it. I'm extremely happy with this purchase even with it being as pricey as it is.

At $550 bones this isn't a cheap bike rack but one I rather call an "investment" as it's built incredibly well and I plan on having it for the next decade.

I went with the 2in and used a 1 1/4" to 2" converter/ offset adapter since I drive a 2012 Ford Focus and you can only get hitch mounts in the 1 1/4". But I went for the 2" because I want this bike rack for the next 10 years and know that eventually I'll either have a truck or an SUV since I've had my car for about 5 years. And I don't want to buy a new rack when I get a new car in a few years. Plus it has the ability for the 2 bike add on part to haul 4 bikes. Not that I'll be doing that with my Ford Focus since she's maxed out with just the rack and 2 bikes. But gotta plan for the future!

    Setting Up:
When you get the box with the rack in it, you'll need at build it but it's very easy and the tools are included which is real nice. You attach the two bars, then add the wheel tray and then the rear wheel ratchet and you're good to go. The hardest part was getting the lock cores in but it just takes a minute and they're good to slid right in.

    Rear Wheel Ratchet:
I have these two opposing each other so the ratchet is facing backwards on the rear bike mount and forwards on the front bike mount. This way I can loop the strap through the other mounts wheel tray when loading bikes. Otherwise the ratchet strap is in the way. (I'll add a photo since this sounds a bit wonky).

    Folding Rack:
The handle on this is hands down the single best feature of the rack. This is why I went for this one above all the other racks on the market. Not having to bend over and reach around the underside of the bike rack to get it to fold up or down is the game changer with this rack. Poor ergnomics on the other bike racks since their pins are located at the pivot point. So with the T2 there is no straining your back or monkeying around.

Hit me up with any and all questions on this bike rack!

    Best thule rack to date!

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Huge improvement over the original T2 rack. Bigger center mast that gives the rack a much burlier feel. They have added a anti rattle device that makes the rack feel much more snug in your hitch. Also the new wider wheel baskets are great with bigger tires.

What specific improvements? My Original T2 is still going strong after 10 years!

    Hi Bret!

the original T2 is still a great rack, but this has some added features. The new internal anti rattle device is great, at keeping the rack tight in your hitch, as well as wider wheel baskets. They have also added a much bigger middle support piece that keeps the rack feeling incredibly solid.

    Best Bike Rack on Market

This product is well designed and engineered. It is easy to install and operate. Everyone detail was meticulously thought
about and designed. I would recommend this product this anyone, and it is well worth the investment

    Solid Upgrade!

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

This rack is awesome. Thule has nailed it this time, with the new lever to lower and raise, to the locking pin, all the way to the tray system. This thing really covers all bases and not a single detail was overlooked. The rack also remains locked solid into the hitch thanks to the expanding hitch arm. Rad.

    so easy

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Ive had the original T2 for years and recently upgraded to this. The best feature is the lowering handle. So much easier to use than the old version. This is the best rack out there. Bought the extention as well and it works great.

    What an upgrade!

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

Returned my T2 Classic rack immediately upon finding out about this T2 Pro rack because it addressed all the issues I had with the Classic, e.g., the clearance between the rack and rear bumper; its ease of use is amazing and, IMHO, quite an upgrade!

    So easy to use!

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I've used Yakima, Kuat, and even Thule, but this new version of the T2 Pro is the easiest rack I've ever used! With one hand, ANYONE can easily move the rack up and down. Another feature I like is that the rack sits farther away from the bumper than the older T2 so that makes it compatible with more vehicle/hitch configurations. Now that fat bikes are more popular, Thule made it so the wheel baskets can accommodate almost any bike. Thule even integrated a rubber piece that sits against the rear rim when ratcheted down to protect those precious carbon rims from scratches or wear marks. Go get this rack!
