Everybody eats it while riding nasty, lift-access terrain. There's no way around it. You've already proven that you can handle it, but can your shorts? Taking a digger is bad enough. Riding back to the lift with blown-out shorts is just adding insult to injury. The North Face Downieville Shorts can take it–that's what they were born to do.

A pair of freeride shorts has to be tough. Downievilles are made with burly, polyurethane-coated 300D polyester, so they can handle serious abuse and come out looking like new. The North Face also loaded Downieville Shorts with gusset thigh vents and rear mesh vents to cool you down in a hurry, a raised high back waistband for total coverage in the riding position, and a seamless crotch gusset for an unlimited range of motion.

The North Face was also kind enough to provide adjustable waist tabs that allow you to change the waist size based on whether you're wearing armor or not. The mesh-lined hand pockets are a nice touch because you can hold onto your valuables without having to add a bunch of material, and there's even a sunglass wipe include in the right hand pocket to clean up your sweat-soaked sunnies.
