Description

Carbon fiber is a wonderful thing, lightweight bolts are also wonderful things. As cyclists, though, we must realize that we're in the realm the exotic when we choose to equip our bike with components made of such materials. Virtually any expensive product on your bike that has clamping force put on it has a torque setting -- some of the settings indicate the force at which a bolt will risk snapping, other settings indicate the force at which a tube (e.g. seatpost, handlebar) will begin to crush. The best line of defense in the pursuit of long-lived equipment is to adhere to manufacturer torque specs at all times. We use the Syntace torque wrench and bit set because it allows us to sleep at night. Its mega-calibrated super-accurate readings allow us to be certain that we are assembling bikes with total care and adherence to manufacturing specifications. You owe yourself the same level of precision in assembling your bike, and the Syntace torque wrench is the only tool that allows you to get there. Wrench and complete bit set included. Bits are: 2mm, 2.5mm, 3mm, 4mm, 5mm, 6mm, 8mm, 10mm, and Tx25 Torx.

Syntace Torque Wrench

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

This Syntac Torque Wrench is actually a HIGH Quality NORBAR Torque wrench! Very nice tool. I don't have the re-branded Syntac tool but I have had the NORBAR torque wrench for the past six years in an industrial environment and it always passed its yearly calibration test! No issues what so ever and easy enough to set torque values and read!
