When it comes to cycling peripherals like stems, bars, and seatposts, it's safe to say that the German-based engineers at Syntace are experts. The same holds true for the load limits and optimal torque needed for installing those components, so seeing the name Syntace writ large across the Torque Tool 1-25's handle is a reassuring sign that your expensive carbon kit will live through any number of loosenings and tightenings.
The Torque Tool's head is compact, so it tucks into the nooks and crannies where formerly only a non-torque Allen key would fit, removing the dangerous guesswork of fastening seatposts and saddle rails by feel alone across a range from 1-25Nm. To maintain the precision of the torque mechanism's springs and ensure the longevity of your carbon bits, Syntace recommends the Torque Tool be left between 3 and 6Nm.
For all its componentry expertise, though, Syntace is also aware that there are more skilled manufacturers of precision tools, so it partnered with another German company, the tool manufacturer Wera Werk Hermann Werner GmbH & Co. KG (Wera, for short). Wera made its name machining tools for the motorsport and aerospace industries, and Syntace now brings that expertise to the cycling world. Your stem will thank you.
