Wallet-friendly and race-ready.

Dirt-loving Syncros offers its minimal, race-ready XR saddle in a more wallet-friendly option with the XR1.5 Saddle. Still designed for long rides and fast races on singletrack, the XR1.5 is made with durable hollow titanium rails instead of carbon. Unlike their carbon counterparts, titanium rails don't demand the use of a torque wrench when making fit adjustments — though we'd still recommend it. The saddle's body is made of carbon fiber in a nylon matrix and clothed in a layer of PU cushioning that's light enough to add comfort over long rides but isn't so soft that it slows you down with a bounce-castle effect.

Syncros wraps a soft, microfiber cover around the cushioning to provide a durable next-to-shorts layer that will resist wear from the elements without abrading your shorts. The saddle has a central channel for strategically-placed relief where you need it, and the option to choose between two widths — with a significant 11mm size difference — ensures you're not settling for a saddle that isn't the right fit.

Great DH saddle

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

This saddle doesn't have much padding or cushion, so it's honestly not ideal for long days in the saddle. I put it on my DH bike and it works well for that application, since you don't spend too much time in the saddle. It's light and stiff, which is great. It seems to be pretty durable as well, which is great.

Not for me

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

Had high hopes for this saddle and in 4 miles I knew it was coming off my bike. Oh well.
