A crucial juncture.

Dialing in the ideal fit of your handlebars is key to enjoying your time on trails, and Syncros makes its XR 1.0 Carbon Stem for XC and trail riders looking to do just that. The stem is constructed with lightweight, durable 7075 aluminum that's reinforced by an outer layer of carbon fiber for added rigidity. It has a low stack height for riders who aren't looking to raise their handlebars excessively. As it does across its line, Syncros includes its efficient four-bolt face plate design on the XR 1.0 to evenly distribute stress the stem will face from roots, rocks, and technical trails, and the design also requires far less clamping forces to secure the stem than older two-bolt designs.

great value

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

inexspensive carbon option, stiff, lightweight. I like it.

Leave maybe 4 or more headset spacers on top because this stem is pretty low profile, incase you ever want to swap

Just a bit slammed

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

This a great value for a carbon stem. It is light, stiff and I really like the fact that the drop is less than 6 degrees. Sometimes your fit just doesn't require a super slammed position and the 2 degree option is perfect.

Carbon and Shiney

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

This has been a great stem. Its a carbon/Alum stem but is still very light! It is meant to be used in the -2 degree position but can ge inverted and used in the +2 postion. The one thing I dislike about this stem is the bolts are not normal Hex head, they are torques bolts. Beware
