Upon rare occasion we run across a small company obsessed with a small niche of the bike industry, and through this obsession becomes the best-in-class manufacturer in that niche thanks for the fact that it's the only niche they care about. And, thusly, we introduce you to SwissStop. Think of them as the Assos or the SRM of brake pads.

SwissStop pads are made by a Swiss company named Rex Articoli SA. Their 70 years of experience in technical compounds allows them to produce brake pads with highly fine tuned performance characteristics. SwissStop pads have superior stopping power, low pad-wear rates, very linear brake response, and a smooth, quiet performance.

The Original Black Pads are SwissStop's standard all-purpose replacement pad for aluminum rims. They're ideal if you don't use carbon rims and if you don't relish the idea of riding in the rain. Please note that they do just fine in the rain, but SwissStop makes better pads for you if you find yourself in the wet stuff on a regular basis. "RacePro" means one thing: These are designed for 2000 - 2010 Campagnolo brake calipers. They are not compatible with 2011 and newer Campagnolo brakes. One order gets you 4 pads total -- enough for one bike.

Campy compatbility

Bought these to replace Campagnolo Mirage pads. They fit into the shoes, but the detent in the pad is at the front of the brake pad rather than the rear, hence I give them only a 3. I was easily able to adapt them by using a saw to create a notch in the correct location on the brake pad. None of the photos of the pads show the location of the detent so I give them a zero for marketing savvy and accurate description of "campagnolo compatibility"
