Durable strap and nicer than original

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: True to size

Suunto's are known for having crappy straps but this one seems to be holding up much better than the originals. I bought the black one and will probably buy the blue ones too. Very easy to install.

Strapped

Yes, it is a simple piece of gear. I have had the Core for 6 years and this is the only time I have had to replace it. The construction seems just as durable as the OEM strap. I would say that the installation was a bit tedious and difficult to manage with just two hands. Make sure you have tiny instruments.
Otherwise, its all good.

great replacement stap!

I really like this new strap. My old one had the grooves further apart and the straps to hold the extra length of strap down slid down and I would have extra strap just sticking out. These hold the strap in place and do not slide down. Easy enough to install with a really small screwdriver like one for glasses. I have had the new one for a little over a month and it is working great! It does collect skin underneath but I have run into that with every rubber strap I have had on a watch so I can't complain. So far it has been holding up really well.

Strap

I bought this strap put it on and everything was fine for 3 days. Then one of the little itty bitty screws fell off. I talked to Craig L at backcountry and guess what, they don't have any of these. So there goes $50 bones, 5 minutes wasted waiting for Craig L to respond, letting me know Backcountry cant help me, and even more time wasted trying to get the screw from Suunto. Other than that the band was fine. Good Luck.

My favorite Suunto strap

After my original strap broke, I had this strap on my Core for about a year and I loved it. It was very light, airy (as it looks) and comfortable for wearing all day, every day. I never had any complaints. I can't comment on how much dirt it collected because I never tried to keep it spotless and I had it in black.

Orange is the new Black?

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Having the Black band with the Suunto and no issue we wanted to try a new color so we purchased the Orange. Great color and feel but collects everything. Dust, dirt, lint.. very odd and can't keep it clean. Seems like the same material but unfortunately not. Does the job but is inconvenient.

Works like the original

I love the Suunto core and unfortunately broke my strap. Its worth the cost to get it back on my wrist. I went with the orange and love the color. Hope this one will keep me going for a few years!

Warning!

I have the black band with stainless lugs and clap.

Bought this two months ago. Solid strap. Like it a lot. Only issue I've had is having skin reactions to the rubber strap. Thought it may have just been dry skin...but after about six weeks the problem persisted. Tried looking here for an option to return. Backcountry only offers 30 returns, however shows that there is a 2 year manufacturer warranty. I emailed suunto and they denied this claim. They stated their straps only have a one year warranty and only if purchased directly from suunto...I am unsure why this is advertised as such if we are unable to warranty a faulty product...$50 wasted now. Wish I didn't have a reaction to the strap because I like it though. This is also a common issue as it has a warning if such issues on their website

Its ok

  • Fit: True to size

I have the orange band:

This band is pretty good. I like the look and feel of it but it does get dirty really easy and it doesn't clean up very well. That said I still prefer this band over the standard black military band. Its a watch and if it looks a little dirty than you are probably getting some use out of it. Also it is well made, I like that the posts that connect it to the watch face are solid all the way through. I wouldn't want to chance losing a $300 + watch because of a cheap band. Just saying

Will you guys ever carry the "blue crush"...

Will you guys ever carry the "blue crush" suunto core factory blue elastic band? Looks like its only available in Europe right now.

Hey,

Unfortunately I don't see any orders at this time. I recommend contacting Suunto directly to see who is or will be carrying it.

Durable

I've had my suunto core for about 5 years. After about 3 years I replaced the strap with a new black one. Works great, takes tons of abuse, and never leaves my wrist!

    Suuto Core Band

After initially have a bit of issue with gettng th screws loosened, I find this watch band very well designed for those of us with a active life syle, as it is ver durable and will no break loose in the heat of the moment

I have an Origo Granite Peak Watch that needs a new band. Would this one work? The US distributor for Origo stopped distributing, and I'm trying to find a band for the watch. Any info?

Suunto's designs are usually very proprietary. They don't even work on other Suunto watches. Try one of the more generic bands like the Chums "The Band." http://www.backcountry.com/chums-band-3-4in-standard-watchband

No other type of watch band can fit. I need something like this, which has the post running through. Origo has a design similar to this, so I know the style would fit, but the concern is the proper sizing. Watch bands from Chisco, or any other generic producer, will not work with Origo.

I have a new flat black strap with s/s buckles, if someone wants to send me their new orange strap I would be willing to swap, thanks

      orange strap

i bought the orange strap on the watch thinking it'd be cool but it gets dirty fast and can't be cleaned very easily. Now its more of an orange middle and greenish around the edges, also the "flat" strap slides all over my wrist and is difficult to secure the strap on with one hand. So i'm hoping the light black that is curved is better.

I've got the Core and want to replace the standard strap with a Silverfoot strap. What can I purchase to make that happen?

Aaron, you need the lugs from any of the following strap colors: Flat Orange, Flat Black, Leather Brown, Leather Black, or Aluminum. Depends on whether you want a black lug set or a aluminum/chrome lug set. You'll need a set of small jeweler's screwdrivers. All of the bands I mentioned have small flathead screws, except for the Aluminum which has a small hex head. The buckle is LocTite'd on, so leave it if you don't need to take it off, it will break.

        What other option you got....?

This strap is more durable then was reported on the internet. However, I took a fall on my mountain bike and the watch took the brunt of the force. That is why I had to by a new starp.
