SUGOi Shift Men's Vest $0.00
When it comes to packable shelter, nothing's lighter or easier to stow than a vest. Carrying on with this theme, Sugoi made it a priority that you hardly notice its new Shift Vest, whether it's in your pocket or on your body.
This reduces flapping at high speed when you're, say, dropping down the backside of a mountain pass. And when those winds are chilled, Sugoi's proprietary Shift fabric blocks them out in order to retain core warmth. The fabric is also treated with a durable water resistant finish (DWR) for those times that you get caught in an impromptu rainstorm.
The Shift fabric's engineered knit results in a subtle diamond pattern that permits the fabric to give slightly. This compliments Sugoi's refined, cycling-specific cut, while also ensuring that there's coverage whether up upright, standing, or crouched. Also, an elastic hem prevents the vest from riding up when you're stretch over the hoods.
And during bouts of wind and rain, when the collar is used, a soft microfleece reduces the risk of any bothersome rubbing. Of course, visibility's usually poor when you call on the shelter of a vest, rightfully, Sugoi provides the reflective details to increase your visibility to motorists.
The Sugoi Shift Vest is available in five sizes from Small to XX-Large and in the color Super Nova.

Big fan of this vest. It has all of the cycling-specific details that I need.
I had previously tried an ultralight wind vest from a non-cycling brand and I promptly returned it when I received the Sugoi. Every problem that I had with the first vest was solved by the Sugoi.
The Shift vest has a slim athletic cut that hugs your body. The armholes are high and have the perfect amount of elasticity - no bat wings flapping in the breeze when you're riding crouched over and no accompanying chill on the rear of your shoulder. I have a 42 inch chest and the vest fits like a glove. It's an athletic cut. I don't think it would work out if you had a beer belly.
The color is definitely hi-vis w/ reflective piping on the front and back.
The fabric has a quality feel to it. The weave makes it feel sturdy yet soft - not trash baggy or plasticy. Contrary to the description, there's no stretch to the fabric itself. The snug wrap feeling fit is provided by a good cut and the elastic bottom and arm holes.
It has a wind flap that runs the full length of the zipper.
It packs up by stuffing it into its own back pocket.
I really appreciate the attention to detail on this piece. You can tell that it was designed by and for cyclists, not a generic vest that was slapped with a company logo.
