Hard on the weather, soft on you.

When it comes to outerwear, cyclists have traditionally had two choices — enjoy the stretch and ventilation of a soft shell and risk rain penetration, or opt for a hard shell, with its superior waterproof properties, and risk clamminess and a limited range of motion. Sugoi's RSE NeoShell Jacket combines the best properties of both by being waterproof, flexible, and breathable to tackle all of the conundrums presented by inclement weather.

Polartec NeoShell is marketed as the world's most breathable softshell, courtesy of its micro-pore fabric, but that doesn't mean that it won't keep you bone dry. In addition to a waterproof polyurethane finish, the hardface fabric sheds water as efficiently as a classic hardshell, but offers far more stretch and mobility than standard laminated constructions. Nylon panels at the front of the RSE help block wind, so you don't freeze, and they work with the polyester back to wick vapor away from your skin before it condenses into clammy water. Staying dry equals staying warm, which means the RSE is a more effective cold-weather layer than its weight and thickness might initially indicate.

Of course, a cycling shell is only as good as its details, so Sugoi loaded the RSE up with all the essentials. The high contoured collar and asymmetrical front zipper seal in heat without irritating your chin and neck, and the zippered back pockets include a media port for easy cable routing for your headphones or radio. A significantly lower back hem provides full coverage when you're in an aggressive riding position, hook-and-loop cuff closures seal out water and drafts, and plenty of reflective details help you make it home safely in the evening.

SMALL!

Really nice jacket with great features and styling, but my very fit husband, normally size large, couldn't get the two sides to meet in the front, and the arms were so tight it was hard for him to bend them. Not sure if even an XL would be big enough.
