RSE Men's Bib Shorts

We respect, or at least are less suspicious, of a monochromatic pair of bib shorts. Instead of masking inferiority behind fluorescent colors and wild-style prints, the simple aesthetic of shorts like the Sugoi RSE Bib Shorts, let their actions do the talking.

For the construction of the RSE bib shorts, Sugoi used its lightweight and highly breathable Ultra Profi fabric. Compared to most bibshorts' nearly 100% polyester compositions, Ultra Profi is comprised of a sophisticated blend of nylon, polyester, and spandex. Together, a four-way stretch is achieved in order to provide a complete freedom of movement. The spandex also lends itself to an increased hold on the legs' muscle groups. This way, the power-sapping effects of road vibration and oscillation are reduced, leaving you with more energy to get to the line. And even better, with nylon in the lead position, Ultra Profi features a lighter overall weight than most iterations of Lycra. This also extends itself to a gentle feeling on the skin over a long duration of use. However, Ultra Profi's largest benefit comes in the form of moisture management. This material is highly effective at pulling moisture away from the skin, transporting it to the quick-drying surface of the material. So, through its use, this fabric will keep you comfortable over the long haul.

As for fit, the stretchable quality of the material ensures that RSE will conform to your body shape within the cycling position. In fact, through the use of a ten-panel design, the bib shorts have actually been formed and shape around the aforementioned principle. And while this obviously brings comfort, the panels also lend themselves to less conspicuous applications. For example, the leg panels allow Sugoi to keep the inner-leg void of an inseam. This not only reduces abrasion at the leg, but by eliminating a common point of bulk under the chamois, it greatly reduces discomfort at the 'seated area.' To secure the contoured fit, Sugoi placed its breathable and stable Mobil Mesh bib straps at the uppers. Additionally, the RSE features 1-1/4in compressive leg bands at the lower hem. These eliminate the poignancy of silicone grippers, while also contributing to a slightly compressive hold on the leg.

At the chamois, the RSE benefits from Sugoi's top-tier, FXE insert. This chamois features a welded center channel that aids in ventilation, while also contributing to pressure relief. Note that we said 'welded.' In fact, you'll find that the entire surface of the FXE is actually seamless. Through a proprietary system of lamination, Sugoi managed to form the chamois without dropping in a single stitch. Furthering this theme of anti-abrasion, the FXE surface is layered with the antimicrobial synthetic, Meryl Skinlife. Additionally, the inserts' four-way stretch ensures that its side panels move with the body, further reducing chafing. In terms of pressure relief and support, Sugoi engineered the FXE's shape to provide support to the sit bones while keeping pressure off of the pudendal nerve and ischial region.
