Description

Tool of the trade.

The only thing separating the RS Jersey from a professional's kit is sponsorship logos. Everything about Sugoi's pro-level short-sleeve jersey, from the athletic fit to the advanced fabrics, are intended for riders at the top of their game.

Take a look at the mesh panel at the chest and corresponding mesh at the underarms. The RS Jersey is ready to cool during intensive efforts, and it's not just due to this technical feature. The RS Jersey's Vector Stretch fabric's open-air architecture promotes cooling circulation.

To keep you dry, Vector Stretch's windowed texture promotes rapid moisture uptake and evaporation. The RS Jersey's next-to-skin fit ensures the fabric performs flawlessly, while its anatomic and preformed panels avoid disruptive turbulence from fabric bunching.

Contributing to the RS Jersey's streamlined silhouette are wide elastic sleeves, and a silicone gripper at the RS's hem. Sugoi's RS Jersey comes in sizes Small through X-Large, with five colors available; Concrete, Cyan, Black, Matador, and Lotus.

Tight sleeves, pro fit

  • Gender: Male
  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

This jersey is short in the body and the sleeves are very tight. I'm 6'5" and don't have particularly large arms and the sleeves were uncomfortably tight. The body of this is on the short side as well. The fit is listed as "semi-form" but essentially it's a race fit - very skinny. I need something a bit more American sized. Was hoping this similar to other Sugoi jerseys I have that are listed as "semi-fitted" but it is not. I had to return it.

If you are a skinny racer type with typical cyclist arms, then this would be a great jersey. If you are a standard American with a few too many beers on board, then you need to look somewhere else.

Summer Use, Thin and Short in Body

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

The construction and quality is quite good. Unfortunately I'm tall and slim and the Small is a little on the short side. It's also a thin fabric so I will only use it for summer. Not bad, but you'll find better.

Attractive, but disappointing

  • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it

I ordered this jersey because I have a five year old Sugoi that I wear 3 times per week for spin class and weekly rides - and it has held up wonderfully. My experience has been that this brand is the only one to fit "true." Unfortunately, I was disappointed and am returning the jersey. It is very thin and runs small for the size - like other brands. Additonally, I have learned to not buy a full zip jersey - the zippers seem cheap and unlikely to stand up to frequent washing, like my half zip current jersey. Disappointed, I am still searching for the right replacement for my long-serving jersey.

How accurate is Sugoi sizing for their jerseys? I have heard on multiple occasions that you should size up on their jerseys. According to the chart I am right on size S. I have a pair of bib shorts that fit perfectly in S. Can I assume that the jerseys will be the same or should I step up to M?

Responded on

I am 5'6, 137 lbs and the Medium RS jersey fits snug. When you first put it on, it may seem too small, but that is what you want in a form fit jersey. There is no extra material flapping in the wind.

Thanks. I'm 5'9" 147 lbs with a 37" chest. I like my jerseys snug and almost race fitting. Medium sounds good to me.

I am 225lbs, 6'0", big in the chest (46-48) and smaller in the waist (36-38). I really do like the way these fit. I purchase an XXL. it's not restricting in the chest, just a bit tight around the arms... the only fault is that at XXL it's a tad long and just a bit loose in the waist. Other than that? It's the only PRO jersey which fits my muscular build body type.

I like the pockets in the back as they are better finished than Pearl Izumi's (pro line) which do rip often.

Nice jersey, trick tech, mesh everywhere. I also have the RSE... which fits identical, except it is sewn to be relaxed in riding position, and in that respect it's a bit better.
