They make golf balls with a dimpled surface so that the ball is super aerodynamic. Sugoi made the Women's RS Shorts with the same idea in mind. The dimpled knit on these bike shorts lessens friction and increases aerodynamics. While the fabric is stretchy and comfortable, the fit is firm enough to keep your muscles working efficiently on long training rides. The RS Shorts' non-existent inseam reduces bulk, the ten-panel construction creates an anatomical fit, and the chamois uses high-density, vibration-dampening pads and a perforated, ventilated center channel for pressure relief.
How to Measure:
For best results, take measurements over your underwear.
Measure around your natural waistline, keeping the tape a bit loose.
Measure around the fullest part of your body at the top of your legs.
Using pants that fit well, measure the crotch seam to the bottom of the leg.
Measure under your arms, around the fullest part of your chest.

I have ridden a double metric and up several mountain passes in these shorts and they are great.More importantly they look great on, I have had more enquiries into where I got them and compliments on how they fit.Size runs true I bought an XS. I am 5'4 and 118lbs.Chami does its thing!!!! Great all round
I bought these shorts after reading some other reviews and recommendations and have to say they were right on the mark. These shorts are great! Comfort and fit works well for my rides - I average 40-62 miles in hot humid weather. These shorts give me comfort without too much bulkiness. I like the length just above the knee - for a great fit and they stay in place during long rides. Overall, couldn't be happier, well worth the price.
I am 55 and just started biking last year. These shorts got me through my first big event, the Seattle to Portland ride. I do not consider them to be "see-thru" and size med. fits my medium frame just fine. I tried other brands, but from now on...will stick with Sugoi!
Awesome shorts the Sugoi RS.. I have nothing bad to say about these.. These are the only shorts I wear now and I have converted a few of my fellow riders as well who all rave about the flattering fit, comfort and yes, coolness factor. What more can you ask for? I wear a small as I normally run between a size 4 & 6 (with a healthy round rump and legs from all the biking :) ) Happy riding & happy rump!
I have been searching for a while now for comfy shorts for long rides. These are perfect! A friend recommended these for the fabric and chamois design. She was right! I didn't find the fabric to be see-thru at all and the leg grippers are great and not too tight. I don't find the fabric rough at all, but soft, supportive and stretchy in the right places.
I wanted some white shorts, so I ordered the Sugios in white, then I was hooked so I got 'em in brown and the black and white combo. I have Pearl Izumi's and Giordana's and a bunch of others, but I NEVER wear 'em. I love these shorts! As far as I'm concerned, there is no reason to buy another brand or model as long as Sugoi makes these babies! I live in Florida, and they are fine wickers on hot days and fine for those rare cooler days.
I have not found the material to be see-through, nor do I feel they need a heavier material for the back panel. The have the most comfortable chamois out there- exactly the right thickness in precisely the correct places, so you don't feel like you're wearing Depends (like with ultrasensors- pearl izumi, take note). The material is cool and moves with you- superior moisture wicking with a nice contoured fit. From the first ride, these became my favorite shorts. Sugoi really raised the bar when they made these. Finally, some serious shorts for women.
The material is soft and forgiving and the legs are not too tight. I agree that the material is see through and should not be for biking without wearing black anti-bacterial undies. Sugoi needs to make the back panel in a heavy material. I kept them for the comfort factor.
These shorts have a great fit, but I found that the medium was too tight in the waist for me. I'm 5'5, weigh 125#, and my waist is 29.5". I ordered the large and they are perfect. The shorts come with a draw string but with the stretchy fabric it doesn't seem necessary. I also have muscled thighs and I am particular about the bottom leg bands that sometimes grip too tight. These sugoi leg grippers are so comfortable!! They hug my leg without binding. The dimpled fabric has a nice feel on, but can be a bit rough when you wipe your hands against it. I ordered a second pair because of the great chamois and the comfortable fit.
I was a devoted Castelli fan until I got my first saddle sore. I knew my saddle wasn't the problem so the next step was to try a different short. I started asking all my cycling friends (only the girls) what short they used. It was amazing how many woman complained about their shorts, all except one who loved her Sugois. She is also the one who rides the hardest so I really trusted her opinion. And she was right. The first ride I did in the Sugoi RS short made all the difference in the world. I immediately ordered a second pair. Now here's the kicker. I still had a pretty new pair of Castelli shorts, so I rode them on a 40 mile ride and I ended up with another abrasion. So I ordered another pair of Sugoi - I'll never ride on another pair of shorts. ps: I do wonder how warm they'll be on cooler rides, but in the southern Utah heat, they are incredibly cool & comfortable.
I'm really particular about my cycling shorts - these pass all my tests! The pad isn't too big and stays dry. Shorts hug my legs and feel supportive but the fabric is sort of a looser/mesh weave. The only potential drawback I see is that they probably won't be great on a cooler day due to the fabric.
These shorts are great. They're what's going to get me through the Bike Tour of Colorado in June. I have them in all three colors. The pad is not bulky, yet cushions you in all the right places for those long days on the bike.
