very comfortable but poor construction

These shorts are great for very long rides. I've done a couple a centuries and they feel great. I don’t feel any rubbing and they fit well. I’m 5’11” 180 pounds and I wear a large. However, I had the same problem with the stitching around the legs that another reviewer wrote about. That zig-zag stitching that goes around the thigh started coming undone on both legs after a couple of rides. I’m going to look into getting a new pair through the warrantee. I’m not buying another pair until I see if they hold up!

I will be saving for more.

I don't think there is much more i could want in a bib short. The chamois is perfect and the material is superb. The only other bib that I think would rival these are the castelli endurance, given the price range. I have done a few 40-50 mile rides in these and they have resulted in no hot spots in the chamois or anything to complain about. I am about 5' 11" and a fit 170lbs (23" thighs, 33" waist, relaxed 40" chest) and I bought the large black/black, they fit perfect.

Keepers, maybe.

These bibs seem very well made. I haven't ridden them, yet, though.

The padding feels plush just trying them on. The fabrics feels great, too.
I bought the black/white pair.

I am most excited about the material othe side panels. It feels nice and compressive, but it is also sheer. I hope this leads to a nice cool ride in the heat.

I also like that the fit comes up the front, sides, and back. There isn't mile of bib strap too deal with. Good stuff, so far.

I had to drop these to 3 stars. The stitching came undone on both legs during the first ride. I am exchanging them. We'll see what happens with the next pair.

I have no idea whatbis going on with these shorts. I threw them on and headed out. I noticed a few miles in...these fit really differently from my return pair. Seriously, they fit like i was wearing womens shorts. I went ahead and finished the ride. But the shorts were hitting me above mid thigh. Jthese Sugois are too inconsistent for me.

Best of the Best

Spectacular shorts. I'm 6'0", 170lbs slim, 33" waist & the large fit perfectly. Coverage goes down to a couple inches above the knee. I've logged many thousands of miles in these bibs. After 18 months of use, they show no signs of slowing down. The graphics crack & fade after a dozen washings, but the integrity of the shorts, the construction, the chamois...all as smooth as Day 1. I've tried all the other high-end brands and nothing compares to the Sugoi RS. Long-hauls are where they really shine...that chamois, while more robust than any I've used in the past, is the bee's knees. No chafing, no soggy-diaper feeling, no hot-spots, no wishing for just a little more here & a little less there...just miles of dependable, wear it & forget it goodness. Made in Canada...and the quality really shows. Glad now to have 5 sets in my rotation. Worth every penny

These are a winner

These are my go-to bibs for longer rides. The padding is so comfortable and cushions in the right places. Great compression on the legs as well.
The back isn't very vented so they can get a little warm on hot days but they're a great pair of bibs. (I have 3 pairs and always looking to snatch another one on sale)

I'm 6'1" @ 170lbs and wear a large.

My favorites

I have owned many different bibs and shorts, including just about everything Voler makes. I currently have one pair of Desoto 400 bibs, one pair of Assos Mille bibs, and four pairs of Sugoi RS bibs.

The Sugois are the best fitting and feel best on long rides for me. I'm 5'10 and 190 pounds with a 34 inch waist and the size large fits me like tailor made. I ride 200+ miles a week year-round, and these are my bibs of choice.

Good, but not great.

I'm enjoying my Sugoi RS bibshort a lot. It's comfortable in the extremely hot weather we're having here in Texas this summer. I also like the fact that it's not just black and that the chamois has venting/perforations that work (!!). This gear seems to run a bit small. I have a 33-34 inch waist so I ordered a medium (that's the size of my other set of bibs), but these are a bit tight. I wish I'd have gone to a LBS to try both the medium and the large on before ordering. Yeah, I could've returned it, but it's not so uncomfortable that I don't wear it. Just a bit tight sometimes. Also, the chamois, while nice, isn't all that great. It's just varying densities of foam - no gel - and that's what it feels like. Overall, I'd recommend these to others with the caveat that they try some on first at a LBS or be prepared to return them if they're too small.

Responded on

You can always but both sizes and return the one that doesn't fit.

Responded on

Never said GEL in the chamois description.Should have been a hint.

Great shorts

I have worn these shorts for about three months on my 23 mile commute. They are very comfortable, durable, and the chamois is excellent. These shorts eliminated a nagging saddle sore that I've had with several other pairs of shorts. I'm long in the torso, and the bib straps are very comfortable. Minor demerits for a bit of fabric fraying near the knee (cosmetic only), and the Sugoi logos are also beginning to peel off (ditto). Great shorts at a very fair price.

Even women like the mens Sugoi RS Bibs!

Just got these this Spring and love them. The pad is very comfortable and does not move or shift when riding. I selected these specifically because I like a longer inseam and even though I am a woman I find these shorts to be great, even on long rides. Would certainly recommend them. Also the grippers stay put . Thanks RC for your help.
