Great feel and fit, Stays in place

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

These knee warmers have a great fit and feel. The insides are lined with a small amount of fleece which is nice against the skin. The seams are comfortable. In fact, I don't "feel" them at all. There's no bunching up behind the knee. The elastic holds tight but not too tight. I've never had an issue of these riding down on me. I usually have them fairly high-up on my thigh. Because of this, sometimes they will ride-up my calves a little. I have fairly muscular legs for someone that is 5'7" and 140lbs but the Medium fits just right. When the temps are in the 50F these are great to wear. Get to 60F and the moisture/sweat is noticeable but not uncomfortable. Slipping them off takes little time and they stuff into a jersey pocket as easily as arm warmers.

Sugoi makes great products, they don't seem to garner as much affection and attention as the other more well-known brands. I don't know why but I'm very happy with these and other Sugoi products I own and use.

What's the suggested temperature range for these?

Responded on

HI Zach,

Sugoi does not specify a specific temperature range for these knee warmers, but they day that the MidZero fabric makes " ...a perfect midweight layer suitable for a wide range of temperatures.

For me personally, a knee warmer like this one is good for temperatures in the 50s to about 70 degrees Fahrenheit. I particularly like them for morning and evening rides when temperatures change over the course of the ride. They can go on or off over cycling shoes, and fit easily in a jersey pocket.

Solid Product

  • Gender: Male
  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I just bought these knee warmers and have these initial impressions.

I've owned a number of brands of knee warmers (Assos, Pearl Azumi, Giordana, Castelli) and these are a real solid product for the price. Sugoi, unfortunately, isn't on a lot of peoples radar but they should be...they make pretty nice stuff at a good price.

The details on these warmers (seams, length, grippers) work well. My inseam is about 28 inches and at mid thigh, the bottom of the warmer hits just below my calf. What I like about the bottom of the warmer is that it fits tight around my lower leg. The seams, although minimal, are flat lock-ish and are sewn with knee bend articulation in mind. The thigh grippers keep the warmers up. Everything about this product is simple...it's a knee warmer....not "tube sock" simple but just enough frills.

The weight of the material is just thick enough to work well in the 50 deg (and warmer) range coupled with your favorite embrocation (my choice is either Mad Alchemy Warming Pre-Ride Oil or DZs Nuts medium heat) and you're good to go.

Great Knee Warmers

These are great. They aren't very heavy (material wise), but keep you super warm. I looked at some others, but these just felt the best. Honestly, I don't even notice them when I ride, other than my knees are warm. They don't have Wind Stopper, but they block the wind. Can't go wrong with them.
