Sugoi Evo-X Short - Women's $119.95
Evolution of the mountain bike short.
A weeklong trip through the deserts and mountains of the southwest require tough gear like the Evo-X Women's Short. Sugoi's wealth of cycling knowledge and abundant resources combine to form this robust, yet easygoing removable-liner short that's perfect for multiday trips exploring new trails.
The Evo-X's shell is constructed from Sugoi's EvoFlex fabric, a lightweight, stretch knit that's designed to dry quickly and move with you. But, EvoFlex will not tear when placed under the demands of rugged trail riding. It's also water resistant if you find yourself brushing against damp foliage of the pacific northwest.
Sugoi knows material is only one aspect to a quality, singletrack worthy short, and the Evo-X shell packs some features that set it apart. First off, the shell's waistband is much wider than traditional shorts, requiring a dual-snap closure to evenly distribute pressure. The waistband also has two adjustable hook-and-loop to dial in the perfect fit.
The adjusters are located on the sides of the waistband and they are inset to avoid any interference with hydration packs. This prevents hotspots and irritation, as does Sugoi's excellent anatomic panels. Added to the shells design are mesh inserts for cooling air flow. The technical fit and stretchy EvoFlex of the Evo-X's shell is complemented by a Mobil Mesh liner with an RC Pro chamois.
The spandex mesh fits snugly against your skin to wick perspiration and keep you dry without negatively affecting mobility. The nylon RC Pro chamois is designed to support over the course of a long ride, and it's quick drying properties actively transfer perspiration without dehydrating the skin.
The Sugoi Evo-X Women's Short has two front pockets and comes in two colors; either Concrete or Black. Sizes range from Small through X-Large.

- Familiarity: I've used it several times
I have found these shorts to be a comfortable, functional overall short. I have used these on two plus hour mountain rides in warm conditions and they are great. The downside the liner is very tight and not detachable. I wear a 6 or 8 and ordered the medium. I definitely I have a muscular lower half so for an average or smaller than average person may not have issues with the liner. Overall, I am very happy with these shorts.
