You won't see Sugoi's Brand Champions RS Pro Men's Bib Short gracing the legs of too many other cyclists around your usual routes, as the brand usually sticks to a more basic color palette for its top-end bib short. The Brand Champion model marks a bold departure from the Canadian brand's classic black and white in favor of a rich plaid pattern with visibility-enhancing neon. We always enjoy new aesthetics, especially when they're on the platform of old favorites, and the Brand Champion meets both criteria. Hidden beneath that snazzy flash is Sugoi's pro-level bib short, the RS Pro, which is made with a blend of efficient materials arranged in a streamlined silhouette.

Imagining a long training season with weather ranging from warm late spring afternoons to oppressively hot August mornings, Sugoi chose a combination of Revo and Ultra Aero fabrics to make sure the RS Pro would adapt to a range of summer rides. Both synthetics are adept at moving moisture from your skin to the surface so it can quickly evaporate, keeping you cool and dry. As Ultra Aero's moniker suggests, aerodynamics were also a key concern for the RS Pro, and the smooth surface of both fabrics aims to help the short move cleanly through the air as you ride. Unsurprisingly, Sugoi also chose an airy, breathable textile known as Mobil Mesh to craft the bib straps, constructing them with a classic shape that will stay subtly in place as you move around in the saddle.

Sugoi lines the RS Pro with its top-tier chamois, which is updated with a laminated construction to further lessen the likelihood of chafing and help the chamois move with you in the saddle. Sugoi also carved out all unnecessary foam cushioning to deliver a more perfect blend of comfort and lightness. Finishing touches include a small side pocket to hold a race radio (or your emergency candy bar money) and wide, flat Aero Band leg grippers that stay in place without pinching or bunching as you move around in the saddle.
