The Scenero G3 Road Bike Frameset is the latest generation of the venerable Scenero line, and we're happy to report that Storck saw little reason to tamper with the award-winning formula. Of the minor changes the German firm did make, the redesigned head tube is likely the most dramatic. The head tube is tapered now, which increases front-end stiffness, which makes for a more efficient ride and improved handling through sweeping descents. The rest of the G3 is pure Scenero pedigree: a frame that's designed to cover everything from long, grueling base miles to interminable solo moves and even weekend tri or time trial events.

The Scenero G3 features the same uni-directional carbon lay-up as its predecessor, the G2, which orients the carbon across the frame in relation to the load path and force direction at play in each location. The design is first built digitally with 3D CAD imaging, and that virtual blueprint is translated to the dimensions of the mold. The mold itself is a one-piece, monocoque affair. Since there are no tube junctures, there is no excess weight from the additional material and resin needed to reinforce frames comprising multiple sub-assemblies.

The frame's rear triangle has been updated, with the G3's stays benefiting from a redesign meant to smooth the road even more than the G2. The bottom bracket is the same 86.5mm colossus, and — with the update to the head tube — it completes a drive spine with virtually no high-flex weak spots. Storck's annual allotment of BOTY awards is beginning to feel automatic, and it's mostly due to the stiffness-to-weight ratio on models like the G3.

Of course, all of the stiff efficiency in the world is worthless if the ride is so unforgiving that 30 miles in the saddle feels like 10 rounds in the ring. Storck's proportional tubing concept uses adapted dimensions, wall thickness, tube diameter, and tapering across frame sizes to address rider fatigue by focusing on fit. Rather than just increasing tube lengths and angles by arbitrary increments, Storck essentially designed each size as its own, unique model. Every G3 is built to fit a rider's body rather than a sliding scale of geometry measurements.

Best Bang for the buck on the market

I'm yet to put this frame "through the ringer," but I have certainty been impressed after my first few rides. Bike is stiff, sturdy, forgiving, has a very pleasant ride quality and just feels "fast."

Before I get into numbers and what a steal this bike is, I really cannot say enough about the ride quality. It feels "crisp." It has a ride quality similar to higher end road bikes and even looks the part too with that massive BB, massive tear drop shaped down tube, triangular seat stay and internal cable routing. I recently spent a long day in the saddle of a Canyon Ultimate CF SLX, and would say the two have very similar ride qualities.



If you're in the market for a totally new $2,000-$4,500 build, I really couldn't think of a better frame set. I was tempted by the Ridley Noah Fast (also available at firesale prices on CC), but I have been so unimpressed with my Helium (ride quality is just blah), I opted passed on Ridley. At the Scenero G3's price, some misc parts laying around and a fresh Ultegra 6800 group, I had this up and running for $2k. One could easily spec this on CC with an electronic group and carbon wheels for around $3,000 - a far cry from that Canyon Ultimate CF SLX w/ DA 9070 DI2 and Mavic Cosmic Elite Carbon wheels.



One last point. I have never purchased a bike online and have always opted for the service the LBS offers. CC does an amazing job of not only offering you the most competitive pricing on products, but manages to also provide customers with that LBS feel. I was so impressed by their customer service and the build quality of this bike, I will not hesitate to buy from CC again.

I bought this frame so I could put it in a travel case and not worry so much about scratches or airline damage and I had a unused etap group so for me it was a no brainer, the geometry is perfect for a $5000.00 frame let alone $1g. Speaking of geometry it's about the same riding position as my S-Works tarmac which is why some downsize the frame, think leaning forward haulin ass not a ride around the lake, the tarmac is a 56 and the Storck is a 55, I'm 5ft11.. What is real interesting is everyone that has looked at the finished bike think it is crazy cool, rare and expensive, once this sale is over nobody will know the frame cost less than $1000.00 and I know it was a rip..

Now the edge news, if you are used to real nice frames and you do the close up inspection the fit and finish will not excite the heck out of you, it is not a Colnago C60, but coincidentally it weighs the same finished and my butt says it's faster.. go figure.. If your looking for an inexpensive frame and want stiff great fast race bike don't be silly, plus I want them to sell out so the one I bought will appreciate..

I also have a 56cm (large) Tarmac. I'm trying to decide on the 55 or 57. I was wondering if you got the 55, was the head tube too short/low? My tarmac has a 160 head tube, which is closer to the 57...

For this one... I purchased it through CC, smart choice: even Storck recommended the purchase!! My first Storck was purchased in Idstein, Markus' hometown, 2014. I down-sized from a 55 to a 51 on this particular frame - Storck metrics are very particular, you must understand them to appreciate them. A very sound decision indeed to downsize on this frame-set for the following: climbing, weight, lateral rigidity, vertical power transfer (all German efficiency metrics... I can't help it). Back story: I own the Storck 2014 BOTY, you figure it out, its awesome: this one is better!! now I've got two. I climb no-handed passing my group-mates (I could do it on my 2014, but its easier on this model), purposely starting 10%'ers in the rear - just good fun. Equipped w/SRAM E-Tap its still under UCI, about 6.28Kg. There is NO flex!! PERIOD (I'm 70Kg and built this thing for climbing) it does not disappoint. I cannot wait to return to Stelvio and L'Alpe on this machine. If you don't own one - sell what you've got. Markus knows what he's doing.

*had to add this if you are wondering: Yes, it climbs - AND - it descends, at ~80Kph (Garmin) on Zipp 202's is solid and worry free, like a billet milled block of titanium.

Background: Started riding 28 months ago, the first two years and 9800 miles on an online discount house $700 aluminum frame Gravity road bike with SRAM Force 10 speed mechanicals and Tektro rim brakes. Only upgrades were an Infinity seat and Fulcrum Racing 3 rims with 23mm Conti GP 4000s II tires (rims replaced at 4500 miles when a spoke let go at 40 miles an hour... not an event I wish to repeat!). The last four months and 2050 miles of riding have been on my Storck G3 with the following upgrades (as suggested when I asked Kyle Brown for suggestions, thank you KYLE): Ultegra Di2, upgraded ZIP carbon bar, HED Ardennes Plus CL rims, 25mm GP 4000s II tires and my old Infinity seat (crowd funded and I love it).

In retrospect, I was in denial and did not fully appreciate what I was missing in not having a serious road bike like a Storck. My several month search for a tremendous value/bang for the buck bike ended with the purchase of the Storck Scenero G3, size 63. I'm 6'3" and now 215... started out at 250. I loved the idea of Storck's proportional tubing concept to deliver the by design performance characteristics regarding power transfer and comfort etc. across all bike frame sizes since I was on the outer edge of the size spectrum with a 63. I believe this will become more prevalent in the future with other manufacturers. Seems to work... power transfer is other worldly (no idea what a frame which costs multiples of the G3 can possibly add, especially from a value standpoint). I was amazed when my bike arrived that it looked nothing like the Storck G3 pictured on the internet... the geometry was very different as compared to the smaller frames. I thought mine looked ugly by comparison but it has grown on me. 50 to 80 mile rides immediately felt like 20 to 25 mile rides on my old bike and power transfer was immediate and blew me away for what I unknowingly accepted previously. At 215 and power applied, I feel no flex!

Honestly, it is hard for me to separate the frame performance specifically from my upgrades. I think Kyle made awesome recommendations which I fortunately accepted eventhough I hate to part with the buck. The upgrades were painless with Kyle's sharp pen and calculator at work and the value proposition was through the roof! I had no idea I could cost effectively upgrade key elements of such a substantially discounted bike online. Kyle Brown and CC has earned my business in the future.

The HED super wide rims for 'Clydesdales" have been bullitproof and the combo of the rims and 25mm 4000s IIs are brilliant for speed, grip and compliance/comfort. The rims roll so smooth and forever. Amazing what a 5 psi difference makes in handling and comfort... I now run my 25mms with 95 psi front and 105 back versus 100/110 and all I can say is wow.

Additionally, to put it succinctly, don't try Ultegra Di2 unless you are willing to spend the extra $s... (I probably shift twice as much as before and it is so easy to be in the right gear all the time. Charged the battery for the first time at 1600 miles and the red light just came on which means 25% power to go I believe) and I don't think the upgrade will be as expensive as you think with CC? Seems like Dura Ace is overkill from a performance standpoint unless, like Aggassi, image is everything!

Hope this review was worth your time. My first review of anything online ever. I felt compelled to share because of the quality products, service, recommendations and pricing I have received from Kyle, his teammates and CC. CC is my go to store for cycling stuff!!!

Almost forgot, had a problem with my Ultegra crank at about 400 miles and they shipped me a new one and paid to have it installed with no questions asked. At the time we were unsure if this would fix the shifting problem and CC said let try it based on a local bike shop's recommendation. $0 out of pocket for me and problem fixed with overnight crank. Wheels mfg builds a really cool BB for this 86.5, it threads together and the only pressing is very lightly On the drive side, and it's pretty easy to remove if need arises and it is available in Enduro ceramic or less expensive steel bearings for any crank configuration, super easy..

Unanswered Question

What ceramic bottom bracket to use with this frame? Is this a basic BB86 bottom bracket shell?

What is the best tool for pressing the button into the shell correctly?

Powerful, sharp and precise

German precision. The Scenero G3 is the third edition in the scenero line. Storck has once again produce a sharp, powerful precise bike. Stiff enough that this bike is race ready. Yet not overkill. It’s laterally stiff but it kills vibration and chatter from the road. The Scenero holds its line with absolute dedication and changes direction so fast from small inputs. I am 5,11 with 33 inch inseam and I ride a 55cm frame.

The G3 definitely does not disappoint. I have been riding Storck bikes for the last year and a half and have put them up as possibly my favorite brand out there. The G3 frames ride like a frame costing twice as much, they are very compliant and smooth over long distances but still stiff enough that when you stand up or get on it you don't get flexing in the frame. Storcks proportional tubing gave a very very nice ride to me on a size 47, most frames are pretty harsh when you're on the smaller size frames. feel free to email me with specific questions on the G3 or sizing. Hi Kyle. Could you please offer some advice? I bought a Ridley Damocles from you a few years back, size medium, with 56.5 (or pretty close to that), and I felt very comfortable on that bike, and put on a lot of miles. I also bought from you a Ridley Helium, size small, and that is OK too, but i do feel a bit cramped on it, and my arms go numb frequently on more than 20mi rides, so i need to "shake them off" periodically. I have aero bars on the Damocles, and again, have always felt very comfortable on that bike. My sizing dimensions would steer me towards a smaller frame size, but per your guide, I do fit the medium for the Ridley with 56.6 ett if i consider it a french fit, which i am comfortable with. Last week i broke my Damocles frame, so I need a new frame. I am considering this G3 frame, as it fits my budget, and seems to have a good write up - but i know nothing about them. My riding style is not aggressive. I am 60 years old, and weigh about 140#, so i have no concerns with frame flex, my interest is more in comfort and reduced road vibration - i ride maybe 100 miles per week, on a good week, with a combination of flats, rolling hills, and some hill climbing, although if I plan to ride mainly hills, I would ride the Helium. I thought about the Ridley Felix too, but it is sort of $$ (always amazed me how you guys can sell a whole bike for close to a frame cost). I know that the Felix of this G3 have internal cables, which my Damocles does not, so I would need to buy new cables, but plan to use existing wheels and SRAM Red shifters etc. Not sure if you can look at my fit results, but if you need them I can maybe email them to you.
