ZTR Grail Team - Disc

Some venerable, European manufacturers rely on tradition as a selling point for their wheels, but other manufacturers, like Stan's NoTubes, misunderstand the word "tradition" as meaning "restriction." The ZTR Grail Team wheels continue the NoTubes tradition of bucking tradition in favor of innovation to virtually eliminate flats while improving ride quality and efficiency.

One of the key features of the ZTR Grail Team wheels is the Bead Socket Technology (BST). BST makes for a shallower seating area, which in turn puts the tire's bead flush with the rim's lip to create a seal far tighter than conventional rims allow. By pressing the bead to the rim, it also frees the extra tire surface that would be trapped under a conventional rim's sides, allowing for greater volume, which in turn translates to less rolling resistance, more confident cornering, and the option to run a lower PSI for a more comfortable ride. For anyone keeping score at home, that's improved comfort, efficiency, and control. This also results in less rotational mass that you have to turn over with the cranks.

The center channel shape, combined with the BST, establishes a firm seat for the tire and makes for a better seal. The overall design of the ZTR Grail Teams means they're compatible with most mass-market tires, with the proprietary NoTubes Sealant being the key element to adaptability. The sealant is liquid while it's inside the tire, but it dives into gaps and punctures nearly instantly to create a seal with the rim or in a breach caused by a goat head. The addition of the sealant and the subtraction of tubes mean fewer flats — a feature that really sells itself.

At a robust 24 millimeters wide with a 20 millimeter internal width, the ZTR Grail Team leads the way in the wide-rim revolution. Wider rims contribute to the tire volume gains made by BST, further increasing comfort and speed. The ZTR Grail rims are also 24 millimeters deep, making them the most aerodynamically gifted rims in the NoTubes family.

A use-specific blend of 24 spokes up front and 28 in the rear results in decreased weight and increased efficiency where you want both attributes most, and they're laced to Stan's NoTubes' 3.30 Disc hubs, which feature stainless steel bearings for no-nonsense reliability. The spoke bed's wall thickness is variable, which increases durability and consistency in spoke tension.

The Stan's NoTubes ZTR Grail Team Disc wheels are available with Shimano/SRAM 8, 9, 10, and 11-speed compatibility. The wheels come with quick-release skewers and 15mm end caps for compatibility with a thru axle. Please note that the ZTR Grail Teams don't include a cassette lockring. Stan's suggests a rider weight limit of 210 pounds.
