Stan's NoTubes ZTR Flow EX Rim - 26in $0.00
Wider and stronger.
When Stan's NoTubes applied its tubeless philosophy to rims for gravity-focused riding, it addressed one of the most serious weight issues of the decade. The resulting rim provided an excellent width and stiffness in an extremely lightweight package. That was five years ago, and to stay on top of the curve, the ZTR Flow EX 26in Rim features another completely new take on that ground breaking original.
The new Flow EX is now even wider, and it features redesigned Bead Socket Technology for an enhanced tire-to-rim seal. Additionally, this proprietary technology enhances the rim's durability, making the EX Stan's NoTubes' top pick for the strongest rim in its line. Adding to this, the sidewalls are now 14% thicker than the prior iteration, further enhancing rigidity and its resilience to dents. You'll also find that Stan's made the EX's spoke bed 33% thicker. So, spoke pull-through is basically a thing of the past.
The outside width of the rim has now been increased to 29.1mm, and the interior width has also been stretch, reaching out to 25.5mm. This change not only enhances tire volume and roundness, but it also permits a tighter rim-to-tire seal. Essentially, this attribute bolsters both traction and tire roundness. Meanwhile, the rim width has been followed by a slight tweak to the internal arch's profile, providing even more lateral stiffness. Like the old Flow, Stan's NoTubes uses 6061 aluminum, and it's drilled for 32 spokes with no eyelets.
The Stan's NoTubes ZTR Flow EX 26in Rim requires Yellow tape for tube or tubeless use -- tape and valve not included with rims. The rim's width is 29.1mm, the ISO is 559x25.5, and the effective rim diameter (ERD) is 537mm. Please note that this rim is sold individually and is available in the color Black.

- Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
This really is a review for the whole wheelset, but for some reason BC doens't carry it. This applies to the rim too.
To start with the rim, it's got a nice internal width and handles my 2.35" schwalbes easily. I've bashed it up a bit, but the rim is still true and holding air for my tubeless setup like a champ. To that end, if you order the wheelset setup with tubeless tape, adding a tire and runnign tubeless is a snap.
Also, I hadn't heard much about Stan's HD hubs, but I can say after riding, climbing, dropping, and casing a double on occassion, they are holding up great.
I weigh 195 and I think there may be some flexing when I'm off my line, but that could be the spokes as much as the rim. So far, I'm psyched with the wheel.
