ZTR Bravo Team 27.5in Boost Wheelset

Stan's NoTubes has long sat atop the world of aluminum-rim tubeless wheels with its advanced designs and unbeatable tubeless reliability. More recently, Stan's has dipped its toes into the carbon fiber world. Given the company's impeccable attention to details and ride quality, the success of these carbon endeavors is unsurprising. The ZTR Bravo Team 27.5in Boost Wheelset drops in as a bombproof, stiff, yet forgiving wheelset that will shred the most technical trails without bogging down on climbs. It features a revamped hub design and Boost axle widths for additional stiffness whether blasting off on a climb or bombing towards the finish line.

This wheelset utilizes Stan's signature Bead Socket Technology (BST), which features low-profile sidewalls that provide a better seat for the tire bead and allow for a heap of benefits compared to standard rims with higher sidewalls. When setup as tubeless, BST provides an exceptional seal while allowing the tire to hold a greater volume of air than standard rims that place the bead 2-4mm below the edge. This interface lets the tire maintain its full shape for a wider, more stable rolling platform than if the same tire were mounted on a standard rim.

When paired with BST, a tubeless setup's ability to run up to 30% lower air pressure than clinchers results in exceptional tire stability, better handling, solid cornering, and better overall control. If you prefer clinchers, these rims are compatible with them, and the lower sidewall drastically reduces pinch flat risk by reducing the amount of material present for the tube to pinch against. This means less time sitting in the dust wrestling with a flat at the side of the trail and more time shredding your favorite loops.

The Bravo Team rims boast Stan's innovative RiACT rim design, a carefully protected carbon fiber layup that results in a claimed 30% increase in lateral stiffness compared to Stan's aluminum rims while maintaining an exceptional ability to absorb radial impacts and reduce vibrations. This means more power forward, more comfort, and fewer flats, which translates to more speed out on the course.

Stan's laces the Bravo Team rims to its all-new Neo hub set. Like other Neo models, these hubs have smooth-spinning, oversized chrome bearings; however, they're bumped up in width to 110 and 148mm, making them compatible with the new Boost standard. The Boosted Neo sits the bearings even wider, adding yet more stiffness to the carbon rims and the standard Neo's claimed threefold increase in strength when compared to standard hub designs. The Neo boasts 4 precision pawls that simultaneously engage a forged steel, 36t ratchet ring for ten snappy degrees of engagement. Stan's builds in its new SealLock end caps for easy installation and Slip-Fit axle ends for easy conversion.

The Stan's NoTubes ZTR Bravo Wheelset comes complete with Stan's yellow rim tape and valves already installed for tubeless use — just add your favorite tubeless-ready tire, Stan's award-winning sealant, and air. It's compatible with tires ranging from 2in to 2.7in wide, with maximum recommended tire pressures ranging from 40PSI in a 2in tire to 35PSI in a 2.7in.
