Stan's NoTubes Iron Cross Comp Wheelset $595.00
Disc wheels for every wallet
Cyclocross isn't cyclocross without a bit of pain and suffering. The Stans NoTubes Iron Cross Comp wheels will definitely make you faster, but we won't guarantee that it'll be any easier or less painful.
With the arrival of disc brakes for virtually every pocketbook, Stans NoTubes constructed an equally wallet friendly disc-brake wheelset. The Comp are part of the Iron Cross series. And, even though they sit at the lowest price point, they are the most durable and stiffest of the series. This is due to the 6061 Aluminum rims which were drilled with a 32-holes, both rear and front, and laced with DT Swiss SuperComp spokes in a three-cross pattern. As a dedicated cyclocross wheelset, the Comps' rims have an internal width of 20mm, which is compatible with most cyclocross tires. However, you will not be able to use narrower road tubeless tires. This wider rim provides the stability necessary for superior tire performance during racing.
The Comp Wheels may be run with tubes or tubeless tires. One layer of 21mm yellow tape and 35mm silver alloy valves were installed for tubeless use. Stans NoTubes wheelsets use Bead Socket technology which reduces the overall height of the rim and makes the inner rim the same size as the bead on the tire. The bead sits snug with the rim, there is no play. This allows a tire to take on a rounder shape, reducing pinch flats allowing lower pressures to be run. Lower pressures for cyclocross make the bike smoother over rough terrain and reduce rebound when hitting rocks or roots.
Designed only for use with disc brakes, the front and rear wheels were built with 3.30 Quick Release 6 Bolt hubs. The rear is 11-speed SRAM/Shimano compatible. Hub bearings are cartridge which keeps dirt and grime out.
The Stans NoTubes Iron Cross Comp Wheelset weighs in at 1590grams and has a recommended rider max weight of 195lbs. They are available in 700c diameter.

Is there an adapter for 15mm quick release...
Is there an adapter for 15mm quick release on the front? I am turning a hardtail mtb into a gravel grinder. Thanks!
