Trail on.

Borrowing the light, fast profile of Stan’s XC rocket Crest and the burly internal arch design of the gravity monster Flow, the Stan’s NoTubes Arch MK3 29in Wheelset ramps it up as a versatile wheelset amped for any trail. It’s back with an updated rim profile, running even wider, lighter, and more durable than its acclaimed predecessors.

The MK3's internal rim width puffs out from the EX's 21mm to a beefy 26mm platform built to pair with tires ranging in width from 2.25 inches to 2.5 inches. As expected with any Stan's wheelset, the Arch MK3 utilizes Stan's Bead Socket Technology (BST) with its notably low profile sidewalls that allow the tire bead to seat more effectively, which brings a heap of benefits compared to standard rims with higher sidewalls. BST results in an exceptional tubeless seal while also allowing the tire to hold greater air volume than standard rims that place the bead 2-4mm below the edge. This interface allows the tire to maintain its full shape for a wider, more stable rolling platform compared to the same tire mounted on a standard rim.

The ability to run up to 30% lower air pressure in the tubeless system than a standard tube setup paired with all those BST features results in exceptional tire stability, better handling, confident cornering, and overall improved control out in the dirt. For riders not quite ready to make the tubeless leap, these rims are also compatible with standard tubes, with the lower sidewalls drastically reducing pinch flat risk by limiting the amount of material present for the tube to pinch against. This means less time hunkered in the dust wrestling with flats and more time ripping your favorite loops.

Stan's Neo hub set sits at the center of the Arch MK3, boasting oversized, smooth-spinning bearings that glide on a stiff, strong, swaged axle. The Neo holds the bearings at a wider stance for a claimed threefold increase in strength compared to standard hub designs and utilizes four precision pawls that simultaneously engage a forged steel 36-tooth ratchet ring for snappy, ten-degree engagement. Stan's builds in its new SealLock end caps for easy installation and Slip-Fit axle ends for quick conversion.

The Stan's NoTubes Arch MK3 29in Wheelset comes packaged with Stan's yellow rim tape and valves already installed for tubeless use - just add your favorite tubeless-ready tire, Stan's award-winning sealant, and air. It's available with a 15 x 100mm front axle and a 12 x 142mm rear thru-axle paired with either a Shimano/SRAM or SRAM XD freehub. Front and rear quick release end caps and skewers are also included with each wheelset.

bang for the buck

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

solid choice for a good all a rounder at a great price. i'm a little wary of the hub, but time will tell.

hub held solid for leadville....think it's going the distance!
