Stan's NoTubes Alpha 400 Comp Wheelset $562.50
Like the 340 Comp, the Alpha 400 Comp Wheelset uses 3.30R hubs and Supercomp DT Swiss spokes; but instead of a 340 rim, a sturdier Alpha 400 boosts durability. This rim features a refined version of Stan's NoTubes's Bead Socket Technology for an enhanced tire-to-rim seal, with the addition of a triple channel and internal arch design.
This means enhanced strength and reduced flex for an efficient ride, and with a 20mm external width, these rims are plenty wide for 33mm 'cross tires to have a solid footing, even when cornering aggressively. That stable platform is of particular importance if you choose to run tubeless tires. And with a proven setup like this, why wouldn't you?
The Alpha rim is laced to a Stan's 3.30 hubset. The hubs house smooth-spinning cro-moly cartridge bearings that ride on lightweight 7075 alloy axles. The rear hub body features large, 58mm flanges. Meanwhile, the drive-side houses a hardened 30-point engagement ring, while the non-drive side is machined to reduce weight. The freehub is aluminum and it's compatible with Shimano and SRAM cassettes, with a Campagnolo freehub available separately.
Both the front and rear hubs are convertible to a variety of thru-axle options. In other words, you'll be able to change bikes without the fear of being stuck with an incompatible wheelset. The Stan's Alpha 400 Comp Wheelset is laced with 2.0/1.7/2.0 butted steel spokes and alloy nipples. It comes with Stan's rim tape and valve stems installed for instant use -- just add tires, sealant, and air. The front hub ships with standard QR end caps, but end caps are available separately to convert the rear hub to a 12x135, or 12x142mm axle, and the front to a 15mm axle.

Ditch the Tubes, Flat Less
- Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
This is one hell of a deal for a set of "tubeless ready" lightweight and durable wheels. I tried several tires on this rim without issues mounting tubeless. I opted to use the Schwalbe Rocket Ron because without tubes it was very light. I found I can run lower pressure without pinch flatting. Rotational weight is quite low, I can only imagine what the higher end Stan's rims feel like. Bead holds really good, no burping. Pretty bomber.
This is my race set up since I have no tubulars, and truthfully I don't miss the glue when it's this easy. I'd say this wheelset could be your daily driver or race hoops and you wouldn't be disappointed in either case.
