Description

Exact shifting for your XX1 group

The SRAM XX1 group has brought an undeniable change to the world of mountain bike components. As a one-by-eleven group, it performs well in any mountain application and is versatile enough to run on either a XC or downhill bike. However, individually, the components of the XX1 group stand alone as pieces of utilitarian art with the best-in-show going to the XX1 Trigger Shifter. Durable, lightweight, and more accurate than any of its predecessors, the Trigger shifter delivers a precise, sure-handed experience up and down the cassette.

The XX1 trigger shifter employs much of the same technology seen in SRAM's XX shifter. Carbon-fiber is used on the lever and cover for a lightweight and durable construction that'll last longer than your frame. Getting inside the shifter, you can expect a precise and dependable actuation mile-after-mile, through any terrain. And though the wide range of gears may seem like they'll cause undue stress on the shifting system, the single shifter employees the new X-Actuation to keep shifting precise and dependable across the cassette. Like the Exact-Actuation ratio that SRAM developed for its 10-speed road group, SRAM has deviated from its bread-and-butter, 1:1 pull ratio. Now, XX1 uses SRAM's new cable-pull ratio system to deliver a more uniform and accurate derailleur movement, with less applied force required from the user.

What sets SRAM apart is its dedication to the user and their demands. Along these lines, the multi-adjustable trigger shifter lets you dial in your shifter to your exact reach specifications. This system is incredibly helpful for cyclists with smaller or larger hands. The shifter also comes with a MatchMaker X compatible clamp. This creates easier accessibility and a clean aesthetic by placing your XLoc suspension controls securely next to your shifter. Our favorite result from the use of a single shifter, is that your bars now have more options for where you can mount your remote seatpost control. XX1 has made the bars a truly blank canvas for all of the burgeoning buttons and levers that are taking over our cockpits.

The SRAM XX1 Trigger Shifter comes with a Gore Ride-On cable system is and available in the color Black. Please note that the XX1 Trigger Shifter is only compatible with SRAM XX1 components.

Interbike: SRAM XX1 Explained

Very Precise

The shifting is very precise. I keep thinking, if Shimano ever does an electronic mountain group set, would is shift better. I don't really think so. The shifts are super light and require almost no effort.

Not as good as XO1

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Would love to give this a 5 star review. The shifter works great but the carbon lever is not very durable. While climbing out of the saddle on a tech section it got wrapped up in my shirt and cracked off. I have X01 on another bike and not only is the shifter lighter the lever is also aluminum. CC took care of me on the swap and I replaced the XX1 with an X01. This happened with about 300 miles on the bike and no crashes that could have weakened it.

Great Shifter

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I really like this shifter. It is very durable and can downshift 3 gears at once which is awesome if you have to drop your cassette in a hurry. The shifter comes with a nice Kevlar cable that is super durable and light. The barrel adjuster has large knobs that make tuning your bike really easy. This is a well thought out shifter that works great. If you have any questions about the XX1 drive train feel free to give me a call and I will be happy to talk to you about it.

Here is my contact information: My direct line 801.736.6396 ex. 4389. Feel free call to me anytime, I?m always happy to talk about bikes or gear or the weather. Whatever works! Best. Shifter. Ever.

For $175, it had better shift amazing, and it does. The shifting is quick and exact. you can only shift to smaller rings one at a time (still quick), but you can cover the whole cassette the other direction in two big pushes which is really great when you turn a corner and roll up to a steep climb.

Also, i've seen a claimed weight of 105 grams. BOOYA.

Laser precision

I made the switch to XX1 this year (2013) and I am in love, I have been a long time X.0 user and have always thought the SRAM solution was unbeatable. But getting rid of the front derailleur and having such a wide range of gearing options in just 11 gears is absolute perfection. I can't imagine ever going back to the old system.
