This SRAM X9 2x10 High Direct Mount Front Derailleur is configured to fit the Shimano designed direct mount. Don't be confused with their Low Direct Mount, which is an E-Type without the E-plate, also mounting directly to the frame or in some cases, a swingarm. The easiest way to recognize this X9 High direct Mount Front Derailleur is that it's a traditionally styled, bottom swing design.

The X9 2x10 High Direct Mount Front Derailleur is specifically designed to work in conjunction with SRAM's 2x10 cranksets. As such, it's made to handle up to a 15-tooth differential between the big and little rings. Its cage is shorter and narrower than a triple-specific changer. This is great news for those who fear clearance between their rear suspension and their front derailleur.

The difference between this X9 derailleur and its X0 big brother is that this one uses powder coated steel for the links that shape the swing of the derailleur cage rather than aluminum. This material choice adds a few grams, but it still retains the widely spaced pivots for stiffness and precise, quick shifting. The derailleur cage is also made from steel for maximum durability and is shaped for optimum performance with their X-Glide chainrings.

The SRAM X9 2x10 High Direct Mount Front Derailleur is configured to work as either top or bottom pull and bolts straight into a Shimano-style Direct Mount on your frame.

what is the teeth range for the derailleur?

The capacity of this derailleur is 15 teeth. What this means is that the difference between the bottom and top cog should not exceed 15 teeth for it to operate successfully. There is no real restriction on cog size, your limitor there will be the frames seat tube, if it allows the derailleur to go up and down far enough for the derailleur to clear the biggest cog by 1-2 mm.
