SRAM's Rival 22 Brakes feature all the same stopping power as the Force series -- in wet and dry conditions at a fraction of the cost.
In fact, across the entire component line, Force and Rival see very few differences between them. In short, they are mechanically very well matched. What sets them apart from each other is weight. The Force groupset isn't constructed with the small design nuances that shave weight. Similar "skeletonized" caliper arms are used, and the same brake pads have been added. Feel-wise, it's nearly impossible to tell a difference while riding. The brakes are fully adjustable using an indexed quick-release for precise settings. Where Rival falls a touch short is that they use steel mounting bolts and pivot hardware as opposed to Force's stainless steel. This makes the Rival brakes a few grams heavier.
The latest generation of Rival brakes shed their black finish for a matte grey and black combination that is pixelated with dots. The SRAM Rival 22 Brakes come in either a Front, Rear , or as a Set.
