Sombrio product quality/design is slipping
These gloves have only gone on about 4 rides. The stitching is sub-par, already coming out in places. No way they'll last a season (~60 rides for me). Additionally, this year's forensic has a seam on the outer palm that can cause discomfort on long rides. I see this seam on a lot of gloves - I don't know what's so hard about recognizing that major contact points aren't good locations for seams. There is a snot guard this year but the improvement is lost on me; I'd rather have fit, comfort, & durability. I was a big fan of Sombrio a couple years ago. In my assessment, their product quality & design has been declining the past 2 years.
Does the job!
Well, Backcountry sent me an irregular size. I ordered a pair of large, the right one fits perfect, the left one is a little too big. It's super comfortable though and the grip is really nice. I would definitely recommend these gloves, but just hope that you got the right pair.
As stated by another reviewer, these are very comfortable and fit true to size.
I had the chance to test out the durability of the materials when my front tire washed out on a sunken railroad track, and the gloves did their job, protecting my hands from skinnage, and the material's no worse for it.
My only complaint/suggestion for these would be to add a nose-wipe chamois on the back of the thumb.
trying out for 2nd time
super comfortable/good fit. had to go one size bigger then usual.
the seam on the palm that holds the thumb on blew out after the first 30 miles of riding, but backcountry replaced them with no hesitation. hopefully i just got a defective pair.
