Good for the arches
- Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
- Fit: True to size
I have a pair of these in every walking and hiking shoe/boot that I own. My podiatrist said that at my age, the arches of your feet aren't what they used to be...but then again, neither is anything else!! I walk a lot. Every Day. Sometimes carrying 40+ lbs. These really do help my feet at the end of the day. If you're looking for a "cushion", this orthotic is not for you. But if it's arch support you want, you can't go wrong with these.
Are these soles good for football...
Are these soles good for football cleats?
Hey Yolanda, thanks for the question.
These are just general foodtbeds intended to provide support for general activities. These would surely be suitable for football to help support your feet and provide relief from fatigue.
I would agree with Lexi completely. As a matter of fact, it's my opinion that there is no shoe, or person wearing it, that wouldn't be better off with a set of foot beds.
I have been using that other Brand for decades. Got a couple pair of Soles last year. I have these in a pair of lightweight hiking shoes. I have really flat feet and i like the "spring" of the arch on these. Other brands have a pretty rigid support there and can be uncomfortable. But these really seem to do the trick.
I also got the Dean Karnazes for more cushion.
Just put them in my old hiking boots, and its made quite a big difference. I usually get blisters after 10 or so miles with a full pack, but the wife and I did 23 miles or so over last weekend and no blisters (even did half a day with one boot soaking wet after a creek crossing accident). Of course my feet still hurt, but way less than normal.
SOLE - Orthotics Segment (2 Minute Short
Too large for ski boots
- Gender: Male
- Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
I wear a 26.0 ski boot and 8-8.5 street shoe, so I ordered 7.5-8 size. They are too wide and long. I cut them down, but I think a smaller size would have been better.
However, this changes the location of the arch support... So perhaps the best thing is to cut down the arch to make them thinner, but this is not suggested as per the instructions.
I love my knees
Over the last few years I've been working towards keeping my knees healthy. One of the easiest ways of doing this is getting solid support in your shoes. I bought these to put in my trail running shoes and I am wondering how I ever lived without them. My feel for the trail has increased along with my comfort and the strain on my knees as well as the rest of my body seems to be gone. Sole has it right with their support and moldable liners. They don't add padding like most companies but that is why they are better footbeds are all about supporting your foots shape not cushion. You only get one set of knees, keep them around as along as possible.
Nice foot beds, thin for low volume shoes, great arch support and the heat molding is pretty cool. Just slipped a couple pair on the last few weeks and I dig! Want to try the thicker ones for my higher volume shoes (La Sportiva Wildcats) and take them out for a spin.
Used to be a Superfeet dude but I think I've switched teams. Go get 'em, heat mold them and eat it up.
This is my second pair of Sole's, I put them in my full tilts and they made a world of a difference. The thin sports keep your feet happy in tight fitting footwear.
