Why We Like The Embark ChromaPop Polarized Sunglasses

Unlike most glacial glasses, the Smith Embark ChromaPop Polarized Sunglasses are something we'd wear on the drive to the trailhead as well as the alpine. The side shields are an absolute necessity in the alpine because sunlight's bouncing off snow and rocks, and they're removable whenever we aren't in the alpine. These sunglasses feature Smith's best optics available, too.

Sticky inner lense is a problem

Everything about these glasses is great, except the inner lense. Another reviewer mentioned it but I still figured I would give them a try. As they said, impossible to clean without soap and water.

The hinges on the temples

The hinges on the temples began to break through the plastic after two weeks of use. Smith does not seem interested in standing behind the quality of their products at all.

I Have Three Pair of These

So awesome on windy days when sand and dirt are flying through the air. I have hard contact lenses and these allow me to spend more windy time outside. They are stylish and comfortable

Save your money and time

Photochromic isn’t dark enough for glaciers. Arm broke on it with light use. Warranty claim. Great new pair. New pair same arm broke. Cheap construction 0 stars if I could going back to my actually dark clifdens. Never made a review before this is a first

Too big and some fogging problems

I want to love these. The lenses on them are great and I was so excited when smith came out with a pair of glasses with the side flap cover things. Realistically they are too big for my face/head and I have an issue with them sliding down my nose. They like to fall off when I have them pushed up on my head and if I’m doing things and bed over. I have also had a problem with them fogging up, especially when I wear a hat with a brim. This happens most often when I am head down powering up hill. I still wear them often and want to make them work, but they need some adjustments to be a good fit for women.

Love this glasses but please sell replacement lenses

These sunglasses are great for mountaineering and trekking in snow or whenever. One issue though is that My lenses are badly scratched and they don’t sell replacements.

Perfect Shades For Ski Touring

I absolutely LOVE these sunglasses! I recently purchased these to use on my uphill adventures in the backcountry and they have far exceeded my high expectations. The Embark is an incredibly versatile pair of sunglasses - the side shields are incredibly helpful on bright high glare days, and I love that they can be removed when they are not needed. I highly recommend these glasses to anyone who spends time outdoors during the winter!
