Purist Hydroflo Bottle

For starters, the 'purist' in the name denotes an amorphous silicon dioxide coating that's infused into the inner-wall of the bottle. The silicon dioxide essentially forms a glass-like finish that provides a totally natural, and completely inert, solution to the problem of your drinks staining the bottle or leaving behind an aftertaste. The Purist infusion also shields your fresh water from tasting like plastic on very hot days. In fact, the goal was to make a bottle that's akin to drinking straight from a sparkling clean glass.

The silicon dioxide coating is a mere 20 nanometers thick -- for comparison, it's less than 5,000 times thinner than a human hair. We only mention this to assure you that the Purist coating does not affect the classic, and might we add perfect, feel of the Specialized bottle. It's able to be frozen or dropped on the road, as usual, with no ill-effects, other than you getting dropped from the group because you won't want to leave it behind.

We have this bottle in a 20-ounce version with the new Hydroflo cap and bottle shape. It features a self-sealing heart valve that's completely 'slosh-proof' on the bike, but when you want a drink, a squeeze on the bottle delivers a massive rush of water. However, you're able to pop the valve down for an absolute leak-proof seal for when you toss full bottles into your race bag. Additionally, Hydroflo features a new three-shape design that not only improves the actual handling of the bottle, but it also secures its position within your cage. 

The Skratch Labs Purist Hydroflo Bottle is available in one color and in a 20-ounce size. Specialized recommends a simple rinse and dry after use. If you want to wash them, take care not to scratch the inner surface of the plastic. Alternatively, they will be fine on the top rack of your machine.
