Great Recipes!

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I love Pro Bars, still eat them regularly but, its really nice to change things up a bit. Also really fun to cook these together with a group, or your climbing/hiking/whatever partners.

Interesting that many of the recipes are rice based. Scratch Labs informed me that if its oatmeal based your body needs to use water to digest it. With rice, the water is already included, so it doesnt hydrate you but, you dont lose water at least.

If you have any questions, shoot me an email! I'd love to be your gear consultant!

there's a whole mini pie section!!

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

If you're like me and the idea of existing on protein bars, gels etc during long rides, hikes, or ski days, just ain't gunna cut it, this is the cook book for you. Not only is there a wide variety of recipes, from sweet to savory, this book provides a very comprehensive education about calorie input vs output and what's right for your activity level.\
Such a solid find!

Wide variety of recipes!

  • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share

I love how there are recipes in this book for everyone! From vegetarians and meat-lovers to gluten-free individuals. There are so many options, it might take a while to get to tasting all of them. I bought this book for my parents for Christmas. My mom is an avid snowshoer and my dad goes on 40+ mile bike rides all through the seasons (except for the winter when he's skiing) so this book was a definite hit at Christmas. No more pre packaged, boring granola bars!

Awesomr

Get Real, sorry, Eat Real

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Great idea's for on the bike nutrition thats easy to eat and digest, love it.

Who would have known that cream cheese, prosciutto and jelly would go so well together and be just what you need to keep from bonking on a long hard ride, so good. Try it.

The intro is fantastic with great nutrition/hydration advice to get your season in order.

Fight Hunger

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

This is the perfect way to get started on making your own ride, hike, climb food. Good food that doesn't ruin your stomach or cause you to bonk at the end of the ride.

delicious recipes!

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

easy to make, high quality ingredients and the most delicious recipes around! this is a MUST HAVE for any athletes that treats food as fuel

I'm Definitely in the Portable Zone

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I am Gulten Free and I also eat only organic and non GMO. I started with FeedZone then got Portables. Chef Biju and Allen Lim have it down.

Bacon Choc Chip Baked Rice Cakes from Feedzone is my Favorite and the Simple Gluten Free Pastry in Portables just changed my world. Forget over processed babyfood and bars. Quick simple to follow, freeze and take ideas are the way to go...Hike, Bike, Trek, Train, what ever. Keeping it simple is best. Thanks Skratch.

Easy, Healthy, Portable

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

The Feed Zone Portable is the Bomb! All the recipes are easy going on my belly during high intensity workouts. All recipes are lite, filling and filled with water unlike other brands gels and prepacked snacks. You make your own bars so you know exactly whats going into it.

Awesome book

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

This is a great book to pick up if you are an endurance athlete. why spend thousands of dollars buying processed energy bars and gels when you can make your own? Easy recipes to make that are tasty and super clean. Highly recommended

Tasty tiny food? Yes, please.

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I love cooking and Skratch labs brings out my inner mad scientist chef with the Skratch Labs portables book. Not only is the food good for you, it tastes amazing (if you follow the recipe). I'm definitely a fan of the rice cakes, but the baked eggs take the money for being so damn tasty. Anyone who advocates eating bacon while riding a bike is doing it right, and Skratch labs is definitely doing it right.

Never Have I Ever...

Been so excited to re-fuel! Down with the over-sugary, cardboard-tasting bars and bravo to Portables for making the best on-the-move nutrition out there!
