Six Six One Sub Gear - Short-Sleeve $0.00
Originally influenced by motorsports, armor was heavy and stuffy. But now, thanks to the popularity of Enduro, all-mountain riders have options like Six Six One's Short-Sleeve Sub Gear. For those who earn their turns and push their limits on the way down, the wicking and compressive properties of this layer-able top will be welcomed.
Six Six One uses EVA and Intella-foam padding at the chest and shoulders to help reduce damage during a wreck. The Intella-foam also ensures you're able to move freely about the cockpit for excellent control in demanding riding conditions. Constructed from a nylon and spandex blend, the Sub Gear fits snugly to quell vibration and support muscles.
This means less time recovering, and less fatigue during the ride. Also, core venting helps prevent overheating and works with the Sub Gear's wicking properties to keep you cool in summer heat. The Six Six One Sub Gear comes in once color and sizes X-Small through X-Large.

Great for saving shoulders
I bought this as I "nip" trees riding on single tracks as I weave thru the trails. This top has definitely saved my shoulders from getting raspberries on them
Got this for my dad
- Familiarity:I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share
He loves it. He is known to take a spill every now and then it has already saved his shoulder from getting all scraped up. He really likes the compression feel to it and can wear a t shirt over it and not feel like he has too much on.
Protection + Compression
- Familiarity:I've put it through the wringer
I've been wearing the 661 Sub gear short sleeve armor for 2 seasons now. I mostly use this piece for lighter bike park and Enduro riding. If I know things are going to get rowdy, I'll switch over to the Core Saver from 661 (full back protection). The sub gear has light chest padding for skid protection and shoulder protection for those corners you rally a bit too far on the inside. I really like the compression based fit for the long jostling descents. I feel like it reduces muscle fatigue and I barely feel it when worn under a jersey. How can it hurt if you don't know you're wearing it?
