Protect and Keeps you Warm on cold days

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

i gave it a five star just because works really good for me and keeps my shin warm on cold days :)

Good protection

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

Like other reviews say they get pretty warm if you are wearing them for a long ride. But I will take sweaty shins over hamburger shins any day. I found the sizes to run a little large. I measured per the fit calculator and the size Large is kinda big. Only problem with them running big is they have excess Velcro tab hanging off the sides trying to snag every twig and stump you roll past. I am gonna have a shop trim and re-sew the tabs a little smaller. I would get one size down from prescribed by the fit guide. All in all they are comfortable, not too bulky and provide good protection for the cost.

six six one riot shin guards

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

Iv'e only used them a few times so far but they are very good pads for the money. Great protection and fit, comfortable, a little warm but so what I'm sweating anyways, a little bulky wish they were a bit slimmer but all in all great pads at a great price. Recommended!!

Very nice

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

These shin guards have a great fit and coverage. I needed good protection for my left leg after a motorcycle accident and 6 surgeries to keep left leg. They provide the protection and coverage of my leg that I was looking for.

Saves my shins!

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Good protection and fit. Very comfortable, the only downside is that your legs get really hot. But thats much better than bashing your shins on your pedals. Really thick padding, you can kick a wall with them and wont feel a thing

I like them!

i think i saved myself from getting all cut up the first time i used them. Being a noob at mtbing and using flat pedals some kind of shin protection is a must. If you're worried about sweating in them then you shouldn't be mtbing. Your doing exercise you're suppose to sweat. Can't beat the price. The neg. is there aren't many options out for just shin protection.

Low profile? Not in my opinion!

Immediately my impression was that these are very thick, like 1.5-2 inches thick off your shin when worn. No way would they fit under jeans as stated in the product description, and who rides with jeans on the trails?? They are the only shin pads (for mountain biking) I have tried on, but if they're all this thick then my review is useless.

I have no doubt these would save you from pain, carnage, and even broken bones, but I was sweating in these at room temperature within 10 minutes.

I wish the local stores carried these so I could have seen them first....

So if thickness is what you are after, then these are for you. Thin protection? Nope...
