Good for mtb and snowboarding

  • Gender: Male
  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I use this for both mountain biking and snowboarding. The D3O offers great protection -and they're good cold isolation too and I love that when I'm on my knees putting when the bindings on etc., they do tend to fall off a little bit thru the day and I have to adjust their position 2 or 3 times a day thus 4 stars. But they're the best I've found so far so I recommend those.

Great comfortable pads!

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

My measures were 19in and 16.25in for above and below the knee. I first ordered the mediums, they fit but they were a bit tight since they stretched to the upper limits of the neoprene. I ended up having backcountry send out the large size and they fit great! As always thanks for the awesome service!

The pads are excellent and comfortable once you get the right size. The 3DO protection has worked great. I have taken a couple of falls on these pads and they still look new. I have no doubt that they will hold up. If you haven't read up on 3DO do a youtube search for it and you'll see how well it absorbs the impact. Even after these pads wear out, I've read reviews saying that I can get a pair of the 661 Riot Knee Pads and just swap out the protection with the 3DO! Hope this helps!

*The* pads for Enduro style riding.

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I'm on my second pair of these. My first pair wore out after 2 very full seasons of riding. These are so comfortable, that I wear them *every* time I go riding. I'll take them off if the climb is super long, but most of the time I wear them door to door. I love the confidence they give me for playing around on the trail! I've gone to my knees a couple times with these things on and they've done a great job of protecting me. They still look pretty good despite the falls.

I'm a little guy. My upper thigh measures 17.5" and my calf measures 15". The small size fits me perfectly and the pads never slip.

The first generation of these pads retailed for $150. I bought them at full retail and they were worth every penny. They're a steal now that they're down to $100 in my opinion.

Good Knee Pads

I originally bought these for use while skiing but they're a little bulky for my liking in that department. They're comfy, sit on knee well and don't slip. But ultimately for under the ski pants, they're a little bulky at the joint. Where I didn't find them great is for biking though. I mean, it is the product's intended purpose after all. Super breathable, easy to pedal in and great protection. Not for skiing. Yes for biking.

Light but tough

Tried a lot of knee armor, but all had issues. Too constricting, hot, chaffed. These do none of that and have saved my knees already!

D30 under $100?

Running with the success of the original EVO Knee pad from 661, this new model has key material and fit improvements along with a HUGE PRICE DROP!! D30 produced a molded knee cup piece that we then surrounded w/ Stretch Kordura and a Kevlar front panel. The pads have a nice ergonomic fit that allows for comfort when pedaling. Strap em on and hit up your favorite DH or park lap!
