Keep your mouth pretty.

You don’t want a mouthful of handlebar for lunch, so strap on the Six Six One Comp Helmet to protect your grill. For years, the Comp has been the helmet of choice for riders whose airs are bigger than their bank accounts, since it offers up all the protection of the fancier helmets, without the bankruptcy-inducing price tag.

The liner is removable, so you can wash it when it starts getting stinky. There's an adjustable visor to keep the sun out of your eyes, and a gaggle of vents to keep you from overheating. And the composite shell keeps it lightweight. If you're going to go big, you may as well look good doing it, and that's a lot easier with all your teeth intact.

The Six Six One Comp Shifted Helmet is available in five sizes from X-Small to X-Large and in the colors Black/red, Black/cyan, Black/green, and White/black.

Just buy it

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

If you're looking for a full face helmet this is the 1. Tried on a bunch before buying this 1. You can spend a heck of a lot more money for a helmet that isn't going to be much lighter or you can get this 1 for a steal, and weight difference is negligible. I mean a few grams shouldn't matter for a DH helmet, it's not like you're going to pedal all day with a full face. And the crash ratings rock too.

Amazing helmet

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

At this price, I'm not sure you could find any better.

I bought this helmet to use on trails and like it so much I started commuting through SF with it.

The opening is large, allows good peripheral vision, it's snug but not too tight that it hurts my head. It has great airflow (I never feel like I'm struggling for breath), and the design is striking but simple.

Great buy!

Confidence Inspiring

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I'll be honest, I come from a spandex-wearing, light-weight championing cross-country mountain biking background. I never thought I'd need, let alone want a full-face. But after spending some time working on my descending skills and learning to love getting (inches of) air, I'm really glad that I invested in this full-face.

It was well-ventilated in the summer heat and provided a wide view of my surroundings. The Medium fit snug in a good way. Haven't taken an impact yet, but I feel better wearing this than my half-shell when riding lifts with the boyfriend.

Wasn't sure how much I'd use a full face

I picked this up just in case I was gonna go down the "Freeride, DH" wormhole when I got the 2015 Nomad. I'm using it all the time and it's so light, so well vented and a great bonus is putting it on and taking it off with gloves on is no problem. I keep thinking about getting a better helmet that costs more, however, this thing is working great. I have yet to bounce it off anything with me in it.
I went with a L my head is 23 inches around.
Great that it has 12 EXTERIOR VENTS & COMPLIES TO STANDARDS: CPSC, CE: 1078, AS/NZS 2063.

Great Helmet

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

This helmet is a great fit, it provides me with a large opening to view the trail, super light weight but I still feel very safe. And backcountry couldnt be better to buy from!

Great Value

This is the best deal for a full face helmet I've found. It's comfortable, lightweight, has given me the confidence to help push my riding to the next level. I got mine in black/red and use it while riding the lifts at resorts like Deer Valley and Canyons.

I ride downhill and trail/enduro, this is the best deal you can get on a helmet. Great quality, light, very vented, and the chin guard is angled down a bit more than some others I have used, giving that extra little bit of view. That little brain bucket you are using wont save your face... but this will.

Sweet helmet sweet price

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Good fitting lightwieght has the D ring which I like great ventalation for the price you can't beat it 661 kills it with value on this one I use this helmet for freeriding and DH mostly but it's light and vented enough for enduro too in my opinion

Greetings Joe, this helmet does have chin straps. They are your typical webbing style with a "D-ring" as the closure system. I hope this helps.
