Great Value

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Solid. Comfortable. Fits true to size chart. Giving it five starts for what it is -- a great value.

Great helmet for the price!

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

This is an awesome DH helmet for the price. Of course its not as light or ventilated as some $250 DH helmets, but it seems tough (besides the paint, which scuffs but does not chip or scratch easily). Sizing is fairly accurate. Here is a pic of me putting it through the wringer.

Great helmet for the price!

Jumping helmet

Broken visor (the one downfall as stated in my previous review), but still a great lightweight helmet that will protect your head!

Does the job well, great price.

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

Ordered this helmet for some DH riding, can't complain. Looks nice, the fit is a bit snug to put on (got an XL, I've got a big head, 7 3/4'ish) but it's not a problem unless you've probably got a lot of hair or a larger head than mine. Once it's on, I know it's not going anywhere. The adjustable visor is nice, I like the strap's button for the slack, cushion isn't bothersome and wearing with goggles isn't a problem.

can i wear my glasses with this helmet

Sweet Helmet!

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

This helmet is super comfortable and fits my head great. It is pretty lightweight and doesn't feel bulky at all like some of the other DH helmets I've tried. Usually Giro helmets fit me really well and this helmet fits like a glove. I really like it so far!

Nice, affordable helmet

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I didnt want to spend a fortune on a helmet so i found this one, all the reviews ive seen have been positive so i figured id get one. Took it out to my local trails and love it! Pretty light and fits very snug, the cheek pads feel good also. The sizing chart was pretty accurate for me, I got a size medium and i wear a 7 1/4 hat size, Fits me perfect. Lots of vents so its fairly cool, Goggles fit very well too! The visors a bit flimsy, but id rather break the visor than wreck my face.

Great for the money

Good helmet for the price. It's very comfortable, quite light and gives you a good field of vision. It has certainly saved my face more than once.
My only complaint is that you can't find a replacement visor anywhere...

Wish they made this in a XXL

Great helmet and value but they need to either offer this in a XXL or make their sizes larger. An XL in other brands fit my huge melon but their XL is too tight. I'm sure that their version of a XXL would fit but they do not offer it which is a bummer for me and other people with oversized grapes.

So i am seriously considering buying this...

So i am seriously considering buying this helmet but i have heard a lot of people say that the visor is super brittle and breaks easily. Another thing that I have heard is that it is hard to get replacement visors. I would prefer not to have a helmet that doesn't have a visor if it breaks. Does anyone know anything about that or have any experience with it?

Responded on

I have been looking for a replacement visor for mine for a while luck so far.
I guess you could say it breaks easy, but if you fall on your face I'm not sure what helmet wouldn't break a visor.

I would like to get a large comp shifter...

I would like to get a large comp shifter helmet in black but its not listed up their black only white, are you guys sold out of black/L ?

Responded on

It looks like they have them in stock if you are still interested!

Excellent Bucket

  • Gender: Male
  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I've had this brain bucket for a few weeks now and have been using it for skiing in the resort. Very comfortable and quality helmet, especially for the price. Four stars because I haven't used it enough to give it five.

A dandy helmet

  • Gender: Male
  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

This is a pretty BAMF helmet, I really, really like it. It's well vented, lightweight, provides great peripherals, and is comfortable. And hey, it's cheaper than dental insurance, right?

Reasonably Priced

This is a nice reasonably priced helmet for someone who does the occasional resort riding or downhill shuttle. Obviously it doesn't have all the bells and whistles of a more expensive helmet but it gets the job done. It's lightweight plus it vents well. This is a great helmet for the price.

Great price, great helmet

  • Gender: Male
  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

The 661 Comp Shifted Helmet is a nice lightweight helmet. I only find myself needing a full face helmet for Mountain Biking a few times a seasons. This fits the bill and the price is excellent. The chin strap is a little cumbersome with gloves on but really that's the only complaint I can come up with. The sizing measurements were spot on.

Saved My Life

This is the best purchase I have ever made with mountain biking!

I took a crash a couple weeks ago and it didn't turn out good.

The morning started out great. A lot of climbing and few stops. But the lake was worth the ride up!! It was beautiful and not all that cold, so I went for a dip and started down.

We started on the ride down. Extremely technical!!! There were lots of 3-4 ft rock drops and big, big rock gardens! Everything was going great. Lots of air, speed, and tons of thinking!!!

But then all hell broke loose. I took a drop and over shot it without correct balance. When I landed I went over the handlebars and ate dirt. After hitting the ground, I started to tumbling down the trail towards a boulder. Without loosing any speed, I slammed my pelvic into the boulder around 20 mph. With the impact being at the bottom half of my body, I flipped headfirst over the boulder and down a 15 ft cliff. I hit the ground hard.

After waiting for 3 hours for the helicopter and rescue crew, they hauled me down 3 miles of rocky terrain in a cart without shocks. It hurt like hell! After reaching the helicopter, the flew me to the Bozeman, MT Hospital. I was released 9 hours later and went home on crutches and heavy pain pills!

Over all my gear, the visor was the only thing to break on the helmet!

Great Buy!

I don't do a lot of strictly park riding but when I do I wanted a full face so I purchased this for the price. Can't go wrong as the price as awesome and quality is pretty good as well. I ordered a large and fit like every other helmet I have had in large. Actually pretty light as that was my issue with big helmets.

Responded on

The helmet is amazing and strong!!! But I did break it when I crashed yesterday! So I figure I will buy the exact same helmet again!

brain bucket

First full face I've bought. Very stoked on the fit and feel. It's light. Easy to ride with and doesn't weigh my head down.

Comfortable, cheap and good looking

I just got this two days ago and got to put it to use today. This helmet is great. It's super comfortable, breathable and lightweight. I got compliments on the styling, too (I got the white one). The sizing is pretty spot on - I got a medium and I wear a medium for my BMX helmet and snowboard helmet. The d ring is slightly annoying, but I'm able to loosen it without completely undoing it to get the lid off and on. I definitely recommend this helmet.
