Item # SID006C

Keep pushing.

For over 40 years now, Sidi has been the tip of the spear in cycling innovation, with every new, worthwhile development bearing the Italian tricolor and Sidi's signature swirl logo. With the new Wire Push Shoes, the Italian legend is pushing the industry further into the future with a more refined take on the low-profile, clean-lined, and race-proven Wire design so that you can keep pushing yourself.

The Wire Push Shoes ride securely with Sidi's newly improved Tecno 3 Push fastener. Like its predecessor, the Tecno-3 Push system involves two ratcheting dials, Sidi's proprietary, non-stretch wire, and a customizable fit at the instep and forefoot. The Push in the shoes' title refers to the incorporation of a tempting little red button on the buckles' faces that, when temptation overcomes restraint, releases the ratchet's lever for quick adjustment, saving you the onerous task of flipping the lever up yourself. At ride's end, pinching two release buttons on either side of the dial loosens the wire. As with all of Sidi's fastening hardware, you can easily fiddle with the Tecno 3 Push buckles in the saddle.

The new model year of Wire shoes sees a return of Sidi's superlative vented carbon fiber sole. It shares the same construction method that Sidi developed with its Carbon Lite sole, yet it relegates the "Lite" model to the heavy bin by losing an additional 38 grams in the process. The weight loss may be due to the negative space of the vents, which shuttle cooling air into interior channels. The vent can be opened or closed depending on the temperature and your preferences — even in the middle of a ride.

Despite the weight savings and ventilation, the Wire Push soles have the same stiffness and confident power transfer you've grown to expect from Sidi, and they've also got a bit of forgiving flex for your toes while you're awkwardly clop-clopping around on the coffee shop's stained concrete floor during your mid-ride espresso break.

Also returning from previous top-shelf offerings is Sidi's improved Heel Security System (or HSS), which keeps your foot positively planted in the shoe. It involves a rigid, composite band that can be tightened or loosened with an allen key to adjust the amount of play you allow your heels. The shoe's tongue and instep strap have both been padded generously to allow for supreme comfort with tight buckles. The upper is made from perforated Lorica, a synthetic microfiber that has become a staple of our cycling shoe line-up since it became a signature component of Sidi's venerable shoes. Finally, all of the buckles, wires, outsole lugs, and heel retention devices are fully replaceable.

Here's what others have to say...

won't stay tight

  • Familiarity:I've put it through the wringer

I've ridden Specialized S-works for years but will NEVER go back to them after riding Sidi. These shoes fit well and the fit/finish is amazing. I noticed, though, they began to loosen while riding after the first couple of months using them. Now, after using them 9 months, the right one begins to loosen when I reach down to grab my water bottle. Even the slightest of twist of your leg and the upper Techno 3 loosens up. When training or even in a road race it's not too much trouble to reach down and tighten them a bit. (Although it is a little tricky with the little button on the Techno 3 closure.......especially with full fingered gloves. And impossible if you're wearing shoe covers on a cold ride.) Crit season starts soon and tightening your shoes up during a crit is a recipe for disaster. And you shouldn't have to wonder if the shoes you put on and snugged up at the beginning of a race are going to stay on your feet in the final sprint. Sidi shoes are as fine as they come and these are really nice. If you're a casual rider and just want an amazing shoe and don't mind having to snug them up over a ride, these are hard to beat. If you want to put your shoes on and forget about them, these aren't the best choice in my opinion. Hoping the ratchet closure Sidi's will be the answer to my problems.

Unanswered Question

I have a 3 year old pair of Sidi Genius 5 Pro Carbon 47 mm "mega" shoes, apparently these do not have a mega size, am I correct?

Completely Surprised. But not Really.

  • Familiarity:I've used it several times
  • Fit:True to size

You ever see something and you put it in your cart? Over and over but your just like, the cost…its so much for shoes…that’s how I felt. I had a 300.00 pair, but I never felt 100%, and I have been through a LOT of shoes this was just the latest. CC then gave a HUGE discount and I said WHY not.

The Sidi Wire is the best shoe, no comparison. I am about 280lbs, and rode about 2k miles this year. I ride a Colnago CLX 3.0 (Ultegra) here in NC. I love to ride. More importantly, I want to feel good and not have the pressure points, I have had multiple fittings, multiple small changes but never really found that zen. The sidi Wire provided that, I estimated the cleat, buckled in and off I went. Instantly, felt better. The carbon sole is really really strong, the fit is perfect, I wear a US 11 and bought the 45.5 Just in case, knowing I had the heel cup adjustment, and it was needed ONLY for the right foot, again ONLY Sidi can give you the ability to adjust the weird foot size when you’re a mm off a true size I probably would wear a 11 and a 10.5 if I could per foot.

Just a great product and will never ever have to look again.

Pure Enjoyment!

  • Familiarity:I've used it several times
  • Fit:True to size

I've been cycling for many years, and I wore Sidi shoes. When I got back into cycling 15 years ago, I wore different brands and had forgotten how comfortable and innovative the Sidi brand is. Right out of the box, this shoe is above others.

I've heard these run a bit narrow, so I'm wondering if I normally wear a 9.5, if I should size up to the size 10 equivalent of EU44?

I have multiple pairs of these since it is my favorite brand and style and I am a USA 8.5M, which would be a 42 European size, but in this shoe I do take a 42.5, half size up

Did this show stretch out if so how much?

Sidi Wire Push Shoes -Men's

  • Familiarity:I've put it through the wringer

The infinite adjustability of these shoes is amazing! They are comfortable right out of the box and the soles are quite stiff and feel like they transfer 100% of the power to the pedals.

  • Familiarity:I've used it several times

These shoes are of excellent quality, they are nearly true to size (I went 1/2 size up), and fit like a glove. I would echo what others have said which is there are no pressure points and the boa system is perfect. The soles are rigid, the vent system works well, and they look great!

  • Familiarity:I've put it through the wringer

I have a problem getting cycling shoes to fit. I'm borderline between a regular width and needing a mega. I bought these earlier in the season and now have a lot of miles on them.

With these shoes, Sidi has put a bit more width into the width of the foot and used materials which really conform well to the foot. The closure system is nothing short of brilliant with a firm hold on your foot with absolutely no pressure points. It's actually easy to over tighten these shoes because of the lack of pressure points.

What I found is that once they are properly set up, you foot is absolutely locked in place. It's a ski boot like fit with your foot firmly held in place, zero lift on the heel but it is comfortable. I cannot get my heel to lift from the sole even if I pull directly up with my foot and pull directly down with my hands - it's that solid. The benefit on the road is that I am able to ride with less pressure across the instep but absolutely no movement in my heel.

This is really a big deal for me. Had this not worked, the next step was to get full custom shoes. Happily I don't need to do that and I'm really happy with these shoes - maybe thrilled is a better word.

Finally, and the surprise to me with these shoes, is the super stiff sole. It's simply rigid - all the power from you leg goes right into the pedal. It's a noticeable difference from other shoes I've used (Sidi Dominators, Lake, etc...).

Really like this shoes and highly recommend it. Spendy it is but there is value as well and for me it's a lot cheaper than custom shoes which would run 50-100% more.

Best. Shoes. Ever.

  • Familiarity:I've put it through the wringer

I have ridden every high end shoe imaginable, and all perform admirably well, but the Wire's are a cut above. The fit is such that your feet feel as one with the bike; no foot pain, no hot spots, no issues at all!

Not only are they the most supremely comfortable high-end shoes I have ever worn, they are every bit as stiff as the Shimano R-321 and Specialized S-Works shoes I have recently owned.

If you're looking for the best shoes money can buy without going custom, look no further!!

Oh, and get the green while they last; could you ask for a better colored shoe!?

Tecno 3 Push Details

Will the new Tecno 3 Push Buckle fit on Sidi Wire that came with original Tecno 3 Buckle?

Hi WSP708248,

As far as I am aware, you would not have any trouble swapping out to the new Push Dial. I am not aware of replacement Push dials being sold yet to make the swap however.

thanks for your response. my current buckles are about 1 year old and getting a little sticky. I may try to clean and lube them. have a great day
