Item # SID0107

Goodbye Dragon hello Drako.

What do you get when you combine the newest Sidi technology with a shoe that's won multiple World Cups? Simple, the Drako SRS Shoes. Replacing the venerable Dragon 3, the Drako (Latin for dragon) makes use of the new Techno 3 buckle system, a sleek, breathable design, and the new Drako SRS Carbon Soles. Altogether, Sidi has slashed 100 grams from the Dragon 3 while making the comfort and efficiency of the Drako design leaps and bounds ahead of any other mountain shoe on the market. Basically, the Drako plays by another set of rules, and accordingly, the game won't ever be the same.

While the Dragon 3 utilizes three different closure systems, the Drako is based around a single system -- the new Tecno 3 buckle, yet another great innovation from Sidi. Most notably, adjustments of each of the shoe's instep and forefoot buckles is significantly more intuitive and easier to do while in-the-saddle. Loosening each buckle is a simple affair -- you can pinch both buttons on either side of the buckle to unwind the line closure, or you can alternatively toggle each button for extremely precise incremental adjustment. Tightening the shoe should also be familiar: just open the buckle's switch and wind the buckle. Sidi uses a supple, but low-friction, line material to keep the buckle action smooth. Not only does the Tecno 3 make the shoe's overall aesthetic even cleaner, but it also allows for an even greater degree of micro adjustability and fit consistency across the entire shoe. This ensures that you get the perfect fit every single time you buckle up for a ride. And for those who prefer as snug a fit as possible, the shoe's tongue and instep strap have both been padded generously to allow for supreme comfort with tight buckles.

For a difference that you'll feel on the first pedal stroke, Sidi gave the Drako the all new Drako Carbon SRS Sole. This sole not only shaves 100 grams from the Dragon, but it also achieves equilibrium between comfort, efficiency, and durability. To do so, Sidi designed the sole around a durable nylon frame. The carbon fiber, as well as the SRS tread, are actually bolted down, replaceable inserts that attach to the frame. This provides a slight flex along the length of the foot without compromising the overall rigidity of the sole. Through this distinct design, the sole allows a fierce power transfer without risking the loss of circulation in the feet from being too rigid.

Also returning from previous top-shelf offerings is Sidi's vastly improved Heel Security System (or HSS) to keep your foot positively planted in the shoe. By means of a small allen key, it's an adjustable, rigid composite band that closes the shoe more securely over your heel to anchor it in place around your Achilles. So, no matter how much power you're pouring into the pedals, your heel will stay in place inside the shoe. It's a detail that allows you to cinch down the straps of your shoes less tightly -- giving you more comfort along with more security.

With a degree of engineered flex in the Drako Carbon SRS Sole and a secure and slip-free heel, you won't have to worry about hot spots. And you don't have to worry about heat in the rest of your feet, either, with the Drako's combination of Lorica microfiber and ballistic mesh -- giving you comfort, fit, ventilation, and durability.

The Sidi Drako SRS Shoes are available in the colors Vernice Black and Vernice Black/yellow. They also come in odd and even sizes ranging from 39.0 to 48.0. Please note that these shoes are intended for use with 2-hole mountain bike cleats. Aand while many pedal manufacturers recommend using a reinforcement plate between the cleat and the shoe to prevent sole damage, the Drako SRS comes equipped with a replaceable cleat wear plate. So, the use a reinforcement plate is up to your discretion.

Need Skinny Feet

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I've owned sidi dominators for years. They fit my wide caveman feet very well. I tried the drakos and had to return them.
The good - the sole is super stiff. Power transfer is amazing - you can really tell. The buckles do a great job of customizing fit. Plus - sidi always makes a quality product.
The bad - they are very narrow. The cleat on my left shoe killed the ball of my foot - there was no way to fix this. These are not walking shoes. If you cyclocross - I feel you need to look elsewhere.
Hope this helps. Great shoe - just not for Fred Flintstone feet.

I own these Sidi Drako SRS shoes and would like to know if there is an adapter for Look Delta Cleats (two holes to three holes)?

I also own the Sidi Vent EU LTD Edition and Sidi Vent US Version and love the fit / stability.

Thanks in advance

Hi David N,
2-hole to 3-hole conversion kits don't exist to my knowledge. If you were going from 3-hole to 2-hole that's no problem. Sidi actually make their own adapter to do so and I've used them on other 3-hole shoes without complications.
Cheers

Great shoe except for the sole

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: Runs small

This shoe is amazing in terms of the fit and comfort. However, the outsole is extremely soft. After 1 ride with a little bit of hike a bike the front sole piece was half chewed away. I had to put some football cleats in the front cleat mounts to save the rest. Especially since the replacements outsoles are only sold in full sets.

Drako's on my Feet

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I am completely ga-ga for these shoes. Long story short, I have raced them in cyclocross, ridden them in the mud, the dust, and on the road. The fit is true to size, as I wear a 41 and that holds true for 80% of my shoes. I love the wire technology, they are extremely comfortable, clean up from mud rather nicely, and in my opinion, hold true to SIDI's reputation of quality.

Great Shoes!!

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I have tried almost every shoe brand out there and have always been disappointed. These shoes are expensive, but are very durable and the wear parts can be replaced a plus. Always a perfect fit right out of the box.

not worth the coin

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I have had these since May and they are very comfortable but they do not hold up. Thank god the tread on these is WAY too soft and had to replaced very soon into having them. the Teckno 3 System is good but after six months one buckle doesn't perform well and needs to be replaced. Save you money and get something else

this little piggy cried wee wee wee...

  • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it
  • Fit: Runs small

I wear 45.5 for my sidi spiders and ergo 3s, but not the drakos. The toe guard on the Drako does not flex at all. I can wear them, but it would be pretty painful after an hour or so. Consider sizing up. Otherwise the shoes are pretty impressive.

Great Shoe, Carbon Sole Takes a Beating

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I love the look and fit of the shoe. It is a very stiff shoe, but also comfortable. The only disappointment is the that there is is no mid-sole protector like on the Spider or Dragon. The carbon fiber gets pretty scratched up from walking on the trail.

Hey Peter,
We have stock in 43.5 for the Vernice Black, but for the Vernice Black/Yellow we will not be getting any more in.

Excellent comfort and fit!

  • Gender: Male
  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I have a relatively slim foot and normally a EU41. But as you may have read elsewhere you may need to go up a size in the SIDI's. I did. I ended up getting a EU42 and they fit perfectly. I was a bit dubious about the Techno 3 closure before getting them but it works really, really well. And you're able to dial them down to a nice firm fit without discomfort. I'm not sure how they will hold up over time but they are going well so far. Love'm!

Hello Chun, here is a link to a size chart from SIDI's website - http://sidiamerica.com/sidi/faq.html#9 should help, and looks like a 40.5 would be closer to a size 7.

Same Sidi I've grown to love

I purchased a pair of Sidi Mtb. shoes back in the late 90's which I still use from time to time and have not worn out yet. I purchased another brand of cycling shoe that was supposed to be good as well and after a year of wear they are already falling apart. I decided to shell out the big bucks for the Sidi Drako SRS shoes and I'm glad I did. They fit my feet like a glove, they're light and appear durable. The only complaint I have is that the glossy black is a little on the flashy side. I'd have preferred a matt black. Perhaps after some good hard use they'll dull down a bit.

Game changer

  • Gender: Male
  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I've been a super fan of SIDI forever. They've always had the best fit and performance. The only thing I didnt like was the weight... This is all changed now with the new wire system. I'm not sure how cycling shoes could get any better!
