Nice replacement buckle

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

The buckles work great at keeping the shoe on your foot but while walking a particularly spicy rock section in Moab I broke one. Easy to replace and with multiple colors you can add your own style to your shoes.

Pure junk

  • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it

Have three excellent set of Sidi road shoes. Crashed and broke a buckle. Not only are these replacement junk plastic, they are designed only for the newer buckles that have a narrower slot. So the tab will not fit. Just used epoxy to glue the buckle back together, hope it holds. A shame to toss a $300 pair of shoes since Sidi does not provide proper replacement parts. But great shoes.

It works

Broke a buckle on my white Genius 6.6 in a crash. Perfect replacement with provided screw and loctite.

My buckle screw mysteriously disappeared....

My buckle screw mysteriously disappeared. Anyone know the specs on a replacement? My luck in matching screws at the hardware store has been spotty in the past.

replacing SIDI buckles

I obtained repacement buckles for my nine year old Sidi Megas (one buckle was damaged in an accident).

The buckles are more compact now, and I discovered that the original caliper strap was now too wide to fit into the new buckle.

I checked the SIDI website and they advise to replace the strap (part SID0021) whenever you change the buckles (The straps are made to be compatible with older model shoes).

Therefore, if you are going to buy new buckles, make sure to get new straps.

BTW it worked fine for me.

do these replacement buckles fit old Sidi...

do these replacement buckles fit old Sidi Genius shoes? The buckles on my shoes have red releases and look wider.

Yes, it'll work, the buckles have gotten smaller over the years, you just need to order new caliper straps with the buckles. From the Sidi America site:

ARE ALL SIDI BUCKLES AND STRAPS INTERCHANGEABLE?
All side mounted buckles share the same attachment screw. The ratchet straps specific to each buckle fit interchangeably into the slot in the outside of the soft instep closure system. So there is no problem retrofitting an older SIDI shoe with the new SIDI Caliper buckle, just make sure to replace the ratchet strap at the same time.
