Perfect, but wonky size chart

  • Familiarity:I returned this product before using it
  • Fit:Runs small

This coat is everything I was looking for, except the Showers Pass size guidance suggests XS is for someone with a 36 or smaller chest and a 28-inch waist. I fit that bill, with a 35 inch chest, yet the coat was comically too small, even for someone looking for a slim, tailored jacket. Too short, armholes digging into my arm pits, and once zipped up the stretchy panels at the side were giving. I suspect an out-of-stock Small is the correct size.

Its Perfect

This jacket has been perfect for everything i have used it for. From hiking to biking this has kept me dry but is still breathable. Highly recommend this product.

    Super light shell.

    • Familiarity:I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

Me: chest 38, waist 31, 6'2", 160 lbs. M is a good fit but there is plenty of material flapping around. Plenty of space to fit a windstopper jacket underneath. This is a slim fit for showers pass but not Euro slim (which is what I am after, YMMV).

This is a super light jacket (225g in M) that can be easily packed into a jersey pocket. The material looks to be very thin and I would be worried about durability.

The size chart recommends a size S for you.

    Not just for the rain.

    • Familiarity:I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I had pegged Showers Pass as a rainy day jacket company and gear for commuters. I was wrong. My maiden ride with the Elite Pro jacket was in the high 30's and low 40's with ridiculous headwinds, around 20mph average. I was only wearing a summer jersey, arm warmers and ss base layer underneath. The windproofing prowess of the Elite Pro helped to keep me super warm and the huge vents were appreciated on the 5 mile climb up Millcreek Canyon in SLC. The fit was exactly what I wanted, high in the front and low in the back with a nice snug fit through the torso. And for a bonus, if the weather goes bad, I would trust that the Elite Pro would keep me dry. The medium fit perfectly. My stats: 5'11", 173lbs and 40in chest.

    Not just for the rain.

Can anyone advise on the fit of this jacket....

Can anyone advise on the fit of this jacket. I am a 40 inch chest and 180 lbs. Medium is what the sizing chart recommends but I have taken a Large in outher Gore jackets.

I have this jacket in a medium. I am 5'11", 173lbs or so, 40in chest and it fits perfectly. Nothing i would change fit wise. Perfect length in the arms and no extra material flapping in the strong winds. As a reference, I wear large in Giordana FRC tops and large in De Marchi. That being said, the Showers Pass Elite jacket would be considered US slim fit sizing.
